PFL Claim Issues: No Response After Filing - What to Do Next?
Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my paid family leave claim. I filed it recently but I'm not sure what to do next. Has anyone gone through this process before? Any tips or advice would be really appreciated!

Ugh, paid family leave can be such a headache! I went through it last year when my kid was born. What specific issues are you having? Did you get any confirmation after filing?

•Thanks for responding! I filed online but haven't heard anything back yet. It's been about a week. Should I have gotten some kind of confirmation by now?

•A week isn't too long, but you should've gotten an email confirmation right after submitting. Check your spam folder maybe? If nothing there, might be worth calling to make sure they received it.

•Good idea, I'll double check my spam. If it's not there I guess I'll have to call... not looking forward to that hold time 😩

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone without waiting forever. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

•I was skeptical too, but it saved me hours of hold time. Worth it IMO if you need to talk to someone urgently.

•Interesting! How long did you have to wait once they connected you?

•Only like 2 minutes! The service had already been on hold for over an hour before they connected me.

Here's what you need to know about paid family leave claims: 1. After filing, you should receive a confirmation email within 24 hours. 2. Processing time is typically 5-10 business days. 3. Make sure all your documentation is in order (medical certification, etc.) 4. If you haven't heard back after 2 weeks, definitely follow up. 5. Keep an eye on your mail for any requests for additional info. 6. Your employer will be notified of your claim. 7. Benefits usually start within 2-3 weeks of approval. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

•Oof, 3 months?? That's insane! Have you tried contacting your local rep? Sometimes they can help speed things up.

•Nah, didn't even think of that. Might give it a shot tho, can't hurt at this point 🤷♂️

Quick tip: make copies of EVERYTHING you submit. I learned that the hard way when they claimed they never received my doctors note 🙄

Has anyone else noticed that the online portal is always down for "maintenance" whenever you actually need to use it? 🤔

•Pro tip: try accessing it late at night or early morning. Less traffic = fewer issues usually.

Just a heads up, if your claim gets denied, don't give up! You can appeal the decision. I had to do it and eventually got approved after providing more info.

Anyone else feel like they need a law degree just to understand all the paperwork? 📚🧑⚖️
