PFL payments from EDD 2+ months late - what to do?
Has anyone else been waiting forever for their Paid Family Leave payments? It's been over two months since I applied and I haven't received a single penny. I'm starting to get really worried. What should I do? Has anyone had any luck getting through to EDD about this?

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. It's been almost 3 months for me. The system is so broken, it's ridiculous. Have you tried calling them? I've been trying every day but can never get through.

•Calling is useless. I tried for weeks and never got through. It's like they don't want us to actually get our benefits 🙄

•I heard if you call right when they open you have a better chance. But who knows, it's all a crapshoot

•I've tried calling so many times, no luck. It's so frustrating. I'm gonna keep trying tho, I need this money ðŸ˜

Here's what worked for me after waiting 10 weeks: 1. Gather all your documentation (claim number, paystubs, etc) 2. Write a clear, concise summary of your issue 3. Contact your local state representative's office 4. Be persistent and follow up regularly It took about 2 weeks, but my rep's office was able to escalate my case and I finally got paid. Don't give up!

•This is great advice! I did something similar and it definitely helped speed things up. Your local rep can be a powerful ally in these situations.

•Thank you so much for this! I'm definitely going to try contacting my rep. Fingers crossed it helps 🤞

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

•20 bucks? That's highway robbery! The government should make it easier to reach them without having to pay extra 😡

•I know it sounds weird, but I swear it worked for me. After weeks of trying to get through, I was desperate. The $20 was worth it to finally talk to someone and get my issue resolved.

This happened to me last year. Turns out they needed additional documentation but never notified me. Check your spam folder and log into your EDD account to see if there are any messages or requests you missed.

•Oh man, I didn't even think to check my spam folder. Thanks for the tip, I'll do that right now!

The EDD is a joke. They're probably using our money to buy fancy coffee machines while we're out here struggling to pay rent. 🤡🤡🤡

•LOL probably true. But for real, the system is so outdated. They need to upgrade their tech so this doesn't keep happening to people.

Has anyone tried reaching out on social media? I've heard some people have had luck getting responses from EDD on Twitter. Might be worth a shot!

Idk if this helps, but I had a similar issue and it turned out there was a glitch in their system. My claim was stuck in limbo. I had to file an appeal to get it sorted. It's a pain, but might be worth looking into if nothing else works.

•Oh wow, I didn't know that was even possible. How long did the appeal process take?

•It took about 3 weeks for me, but I've heard it can vary. Still faster than waiting for them to figure it out on their own tho
