Anyone else notice that the EDD website is always "down for maintenance" when you actually need to use it? π It's like they're stuck in 1995 or something.
LOL truth! I swear they're running it on a Commodore 64 in someone's basement π
For real tho, how hard is it to build a website that actually works? My kid could probably do a better job with his Legos π§±
Hang in there, OP! We're all in the same boat. This too shall pass... eventually. Just keep swimming! π
guys i think the system is down again. anyone else having trouble logging in?
Has anyone tried reaching out on social media? I've heard some people have had luck getting responses from EDD on Twitter. Might be worth a shot!
Idk if this helps, but I had a similar issue and it turned out there was a glitch in their system. My claim was stuck in limbo. I had to file an appeal to get it sorted. It's a pain, but might be worth looking into if nothing else works.
It took about 3 weeks for me, but I've heard it can vary. Still faster than waiting for them to figure it out on their own tho
Hey OP, how long ago did you submit your paperwork? I've heard they're really backed up right now due to all the claims from the pandemic.
It's been about 6 weeks now. I know they're swamped, but it's getting really tough to manage without the payment.
Oof, that's rough. Hang in there. Have you considered applying for any emergency assistance programs in the meantime?
Pro tip: if you fax your documents instead of mailing them, it can speed up the process. I know it sounds like we're back in the 90s, but it worked for me!
Can confirm. Faxing is like a secret backdoor to the EDD. It's wild that it works, but it does!

The whole system is broken. We need to organize and demand better service from EDD. Who's with me? β

Have you tried faxing them? I know it sounds crazy in 2023, but I got a response within a week when I faxed my inquiry. Here's the number I used: 855-027-2666
