Anyone else feel like the whole system is designed to be as confusing as possible? 🤡 I swear they make it hard on purpose so people just give up.
Here's a comprehensive guide for verifying and potentially extending your PFL benefits: 1. Check your online account for any recent notices or updates 2. Gather all relevant medical documentation, including: - Doctor's certification of your condition - Any treatment plans or therapy schedules - Updated medical evaluations if your condition has changed 3. Review your original claim approval letter for your current end date 4. Prepare a written statement explaining why you need an extension (if applicable) 5. Call the PFL office (use the Claimyr tool if you're having trouble getting through) 6. During the call: - Have your claim number ready - Ask about your current status and remaining days - Inquire about the extension process and eligibility - Take detailed notes of the conversation 7. Follow up with any additional documentation they request 8. If denied, ask about the appeals process Remember, persistence is key. Don't be afraid to call multiple times if you're not getting clear answers. Good luck!
Has anyone had luck getting their employer to cover the difference? My company is being difficult about it.
Pro tip: document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every interaction. You never know when you'll need to prove you've been trying to resolve this. CYA all the way!
Hey guys, I know this is frustrating but I found a way to actually get someone on the phone about these issues. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Ugh, I've been dealing with this for WEEKS. It's like they're purposely making it difficult. Anyone else feel like the system is designed to make us give up? 🤬

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold last week!
