EDD Paid Family Leave app pending 2+ months, old apps vanished. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my paid family leave application. It's been pending for over 2 months now and I can't even see the old applications anymore. I've tried submitting new ones hoping they'd get reviewed, but they're still pending too. Anyone else dealing with this? Any advice on how to get through to someone at EDD?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been waiting for 3 months now on my application. It's like they've completely forgotten about us. Have you tried calling them? I've heard some people have had luck getting through early in the morning.

ā¢I've tried calling so many times, but I always get the 'we're too busy' message. It's so frustrating! š¤

ā¢Pro tip: try calling right at 8:01 AM. Sometimes you can sneak in before the rush.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

ā¢I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. After weeks of trying, I finally got through and got my issue resolved. Worth every penny imo.

ā¢How long did you have to wait once you used the service?

ā¢It took about 2 hours, but I just went about my day and they called me when an agent was on the line. Way better than being stuck on hold myself!

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They sometimes have direct lines to EDD and can help push your case through.

This whole system is a joke. They expect us to just wait around for months while bills pile up? Something needs to change. š¤¬

ā¢Maybe we should all show up at their office and see how they like dealing with a backlog š

I've been through this before, and I know it's frustrating. Here's what I've learned that might help: ⢠Keep a detailed log of all your attempts to contact EDD (dates, times, outcomes) ⢠Submit a request for assistance through their online portal if you haven't already ⢠Check if there are any missing documents or information they might need ⢠Consider reaching out to your state representative or senator's office ⢠Join Facebook groups or other online communities for peer support and up-to-date info ⢠If all else fails, consider filing a complaint with the state labor board Hang in there, OP. It's a tough process, but persistence usually pays off in the end.

anyone else notice that the EDD website is always "under maintenance" when you actually need to use it? š

ā¢Conspiracy theory: the website is actually run by hamsters on wheels, and sometimes they need a break š¹

Hey OP, when you do get through to someone, make sure to ask about retroactive payments for the time you've been waiting. Don't let them shortchange you!

ā¢Lol, I don't even know where to find a fax machine these days. But I'm desperate enough to try anything at this point!

Just a heads up, I've heard they're super backed up due to a new system update. Might be why everythings taking so long. Doesn't make it any less frustrating tho š
