EDD ignoring PFL application for over a month - docs submitted, office visit, no progress. Help!
I applied for paid family leave over a month ago and submitted all the required documents online, both from me and my employer. It's been radio silence since then. I even went to the EDD office in person, but nothing seems to be working. They're not even looking at the documents we submitted. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on how to get them to actually review my application?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I was in the same boat a few months ago. It took them forever to even acknowledge my application. Have you tried calling their customer service line? It's a nightmare to get through, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

•I've been trying to call for days but can never get through. It's so frustrating! How long did it take for them to process your application?

•It took about 6 weeks for me, which felt like an eternity. Keep trying to call tho, early mornings seemed to work best for me. Good luck!

•Pro tip: use the Spanish line and then ask for an English speaker. Usually way shorter wait times 😉

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

•Idk man, paying to talk to a government agency feels wrong. Shouldn't this be free?

•I get where you're coming from, but for me, time is money. The stress it saved was worth every penny.

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They can sometimes help expedite things with EDD. It's worth a shot!

The EDD system is so broken rn its not even funny. I've been waiting 3 months for my claim to be processed. This is ridiculous! 🤬

•3 months?! That's insane. How are people supposed to survive while waiting that long?

Here's what worked for me: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, visits, and online submissions. 2. Use the Ask EDD feature on their website to submit a formal inquiry. 3. If that doesn't work, file a complaint with the state ombudsman. 4. Reach out to your state representative or senator's office. 5. As a last resort, consider contacting local media. Sometimes public pressure can get things moving. It's a long process, but persistence is key. Don't give up!

•Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely start documenting everything. Did you have any luck with the Ask EDD feature?

•The Ask EDD feature was hit or miss, but it did create a paper trail which helped later when I escalated to my state rep. Hang in there!

Has anyone tried faxing their documents? I know it sounds ancient, but I've heard some people have had success with that method.
