EDD hasn't paid me since January 14th - over a month with no benefits. What can I do?
I haven't been paid since January 14th. It's been over a month now and I'm getting really worried. Has anyone else experienced such a long delay with their unemployment payments? I've tried contacting EDD but haven't had any luck getting through. Any advice on what I should do next?

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. Haven't seen a dime since December. The system is so broken, it's ridiculous. 🤬

•December?! That's insane. Have you tried reaching out to your local assemblymember? I've heard they can sometimes help speed things up.

•Yeah, I tried that. They said theyd look into it but havent heard back in weeks. Starting to feel like I'm shouting into the void here.

•Damn, that sucks. Maybe try blowing up their social media? Sometimes public pressure works wonders 👀

I finally found a way to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•I was skeptical at first too, but I can confirm it worked for me. Got through to an agent in about 2 hours instead of spending days trying to call myself.

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's highway robbery! 😤

•I get it, but when you're waiting on thousands in benefits, $20 seemed worth it to me. Beats losing my mind trying to get through myself.

Have you checked your UI Online account? Sometimes there are pending certifications or requests for additional information that can hold up payments.

This is why we need a complete overhaul of the unemployment system. It's a joke that people have to wait months for their benefits during a crisis. 🤡

•Preach! 🙌 The whole system is held together with duct tape and prayers at this point.

Here's what worked for me: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact EDD. 2. Send a message through UI Online. Be specific about your issue. 3. Contact your state representative AND senator. Send them a detailed email. 4. If you can, use the callback service mentioned above. It's worth the $20 if you're desperate. 5. Once you get through, ask for a tier 2 specialist if the first person can't help. 6. Be persistent but polite. The staff are overwhelmed too. Hang in there, OP. It's a frustrating process, but keep at it!

Have you checked if there's an issue with your identity verification? That held up my payments for weeks until I uploaded the right documents.

•I didn't even think of that. How do I check if there's an identity verification issue?

•Log into your UI Online account and look for any messages or alerts. If there's an identity issue, it should be pretty clear. You might need to use ID.me to verify your identity.

Guys, I heard theres a glitch in the system affecting payments for claims filed in January. Might be worth mentioning when you finally get through to someone.

•Source? Or is this just another reddit rumor?

•My cousin works for EDD (I know, I know, trust me bro). But seriously, she mentioned they're dealing with a lot of January claims being stuck.
