EDD payment delayed, can't reach anyone - help!
I haven't gotten paid for my unemployment claim and I don't know why. I'm trying to call EDD to find out what's going on with my payments but I can't get through. Has anyone else had this problem? Any advice on how to get in touch with them or figure out why my payments are delayed?

I found a way to solve unpaid unemployment claims delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcq9F-y0LKQ

Ugh, welcome to the club. 🙄 I've been dealing with this for weeks now. It's like they're purposely making it impossible to get any answers.

•Weeks? Try months! 😭 I've been trying to get through since January. This system is so broken.

•Months?! Jeez, I'm sorry to hear that. This is ridiculous. How are we supposed to survive?

Have you checked your UI Online account? Sometimes there are pending issues or required documents listed there that could explain the delay.

•Yeah, I've checked but there's nothing there. No pending issues or required docs. That's why I'm so confused 😕

•Hmm, that is strange. Might be a technical glitch on their end then. Definitely keep trying to reach them!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work? How long did you have to wait?

•$20?! That's ridiculous. We shouldn't have to pay to talk to EDD. 😤

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Waited about 2 hours, but didn't have to sit by the phone. And yeah, $20 sucks, but I was desperate 🤷♂️

Here's what I've learned after dealing with EDD for way too long: 1. Keep calling, even if it seems hopeless. Try different times of day. 2. Check your UI Online account daily for updates. 3. If you get through, ask for a tier 2 specialist immediately. 4. Document everything - dates you called, who you spoke to, what they said. 5. Contact your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes help push things through. 6. Make sure your contact info is up to date in the system. 7. If there's a local EDD office, try going in person (though many are still closed). 8. Be patient but persistent. The system is overwhelmed, but don't give up! Hope this helps someone. We're all in this together! 💪

•Great advice! I'd add: check if you need to refile your claim if your benefit year ended. That tripped me up for weeks.

This might sound crazy, but try tweeting at EDD. I've seen some people get responses that way. Worth a shot! 🤷♀️

Guys, I think I figured out the secret to getting paid. You have to do the EDD dance at midnight under a full moon while chanting 'Pay me please' three times. Works every time, 60% of the time. 😂

•Instructions unclear, danced at noon and now I owe EDD money. 😅

Has anyone else noticed that their claim status changes randomly? Mine went from 'paid' to 'pending' and back again without me doing anything. EDD's system seems buggier than a summer campground.

•YES! Thought I was going crazy. It's like playing unemployment roulette.

Pro tip: If you do get through, ask them to put notes on your account about the call. It helps if you need to follow up later and proves you've been trying to resolve the issue.
