EDD claim under review for 4 weeks, no payment yet. Can't get through on phone. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm really frustrated with my unemployment claim. It's been under review for 4 weeks now and I still haven't been paid. I tried calling EDD but couldn't get through. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on how to speed up the process or actually talk to someone?

I found a way to solve unemployment claim under review delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHCtHZTdtMA

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been in the same boat for almost 2 months now. It's like they're purposely making it impossible to get help. Have you tried emailing them? Sometimes that works better than calling.

•Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give email a shot. Did you get any response when you tried it?

•Yeah, I got a response after about a week. It wasn't super helpful, but at least it was something. Better than the endless hold music on the phone 🙄

•Email? lol good luck with that. I've sent like 5 emails and haven't heard squat. This whole system is a joke 🤡

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•20 bucks? That's highway robbery! We shouldn't have to pay to get help with our claims 😤

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. After weeks of trying, I finally got through and got my issue resolved. Sometimes you gotta spend money to make money, ya know?

•I tried it too and it worked! Expensive, yeah, but way better than wasting hours on hold every day.

Here's what I've learned after dealing with EDD for months: 1. Be persistent. Call every day if you have to. 2. Keep detailed records of all your attempts to contact them. 3. Reach out to your local assembly member. They can sometimes expedite claims. 4. Check your UI Online account regularly for updates. 5. Make sure all your documents are in order and uploaded correctly. 6. If you get through, be polite but firm. The person on the other end is probably overwhelmed too. 7. Consider using a paid service like others have mentioned if you're really stuck. Hang in there, OP. The system is broken, but don't give up!

•Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try reaching out to my assembly member. Didn't even know that was an option.

•Have you looked into local food banks? They might be able to help with groceries at least.

Pro tip: call right when they open. Like, start dialing at 7:59. Sometimes you can get through before the queue fills up.

•This! Also, I've had luck calling later in the day, like an hour before they close. Less traffic then too.

Anyone else notice that the website is always "undergoing maintenance" when you actually need to use it? 🙄

Hey OP, what exactly does your claim status say? Sometimes the wording can give you a clue about what's holding things up.

•It just says "under review". Super helpful, right? 🙃

•Ugh, classic EDD. Vague and unhelpful as always. Hang in there!
