EDD claim stuck in 'pending processing' for weeks - no updates, what to do?

Hey everyone, I'm getting really frustrated with my unemployment claim. It's been stuck in 'pending processing' for weeks now and I haven't seen any updates. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas on how to speed things up or at least find out what's going on?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same boat for like 2 months. Have you tried calling them? It's a nightmare to get through, but it's the only way I finally got mine sorted.

I've been trying to call but no luck getting through. It's so frustrating! How many times did you have to try before you got someone on the line?

Honestly, I lost count. I think I tried at least 50 times over a couple weeks. It's ridiculous how understaffed they are. Keep trying tho, you'll get through eventually!

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through on my third try doing that. Good luck!

Check if there's any missing info or documents they might need. Sometimes they don't tell you and it just sits there. Log into your account and see if there's anything flagged.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? That's steep. Is it really worth it?

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. After weeks of trying to get through, I was desperate. The $20 was worth it to finally get my claim sorted.

I used it too. Felt kinda weird paying to talk to a government agency, but man, it saved me so much time and stress.

Have you tried reaching out to your local state representative? Sometimes they can help push things through faster.

I didn't even know that was an option! How do I find out who my rep is?

Just google '[your state] find my representative'. Most have websites where you can submit inquiries. They often have staff dedicated to helping with stuff like this.

The whole system is broken af 🤡 I've been waiting 3 months now. Starting to think they're just hoping we'll give up and go away.

Preach! 🙌 It's like they're playing games with our lives. We need to eat too, ya know?

Guys, I know it sucks, but they're probably just overwhelmed. COVID hit everyone hard, including the unemployment office.

@profile11 Stop defending them! They've had plenty of time to get their act together. This is straight up negligence at this point. 😤

Here's what I've learned from my experience and research about pending claims: 1. Common reasons for pending status: - Identity verification issues - Employer dispute - Missing or incomplete information - System glitches 2. Steps to take: - Double-check all info in your account - Upload any requested documents ASAP - Contact your former employer to ensure they're not contesting - Keep certifying weekly even if pending 3. Getting help: - Try calling early morning or late afternoon - Use the online contact form (responses can take weeks tho) - Reach out to your state rep or senator - Consider using a paid service to get through phone lines 4. Last resort: - File an appeal if it's been more than 3 weeks - Contact local media if you're truly desperate Hang in there everyone. The system sucks, but persistence usually pays off eventually.

idk if this helps, but I had a similar issue and it turned out there was a glitch in their system. Try logging out, clearing your browser cache, and logging back in. Magically fixed it for me!

I'm going through the exact same thing right now - 5 weeks and counting in "pending" status. It's so stressful not knowing when (or if) it'll get resolved. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences and tips, especially @Chloe Taylor for that comprehensive breakdown. I'm going to try the early morning calling strategy and also look into contacting my state rep. This whole situation really highlights how broken the system is. Hoping we all get through this soon! 🤞

Hey Connor! I'm in the same boat - just hit week 4 of pending status myself. It's honestly so reassuring to know I'm not alone in this mess. The stress is real when you're depending on these payments! I'm definitely going to try that Spanish line trick someone mentioned, even though it feels a bit sketchy. At this point I'm willing to try anything. Keep us posted on how the state rep route works out for you - I might follow your lead on that one. We got this! 💪
