DETR: Two approved weeks from October still not finalized. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my unemployment claim. I got two weeks approved back in October, but they still haven't been finalized. It's been months now and I'm getting worried. Has anyone else experienced this kind of delay? Any advice on how to speed things up?

Ugh, I feel your pain. The system is so broken rn. I've been waiting on a claim from LAST YEAR. It's ridiculous how long they make us wait. Have you tried calling them?

•I've tried calling so many times, but I can never get through. It's always busy or I'm on hold forever. 😫

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I mean like, the second they open. Set an alarm and everything. It's the only way I've ever gotten through.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/joPqgg0bRFw

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda steep just to make a phone call.

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo. 💯

•Can you give more details about how it works? Do they guarantee you'll get through?

•Sure! Basically, you choose the department you need to reach, pay the fee, and their system starts calling. It navigates the phone tree and waits on hold for you. When a real person picks up, it calls your phone and connects you. No guarantee, but it worked for me first try.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update the status there before they actually process the payment. Might give you some info at least.

This is why I always tell people to keep meticulous records. Screenshot everything, save all emails, write down who you talk to and when. The system is a mess and you gotta cover your own ass.

•That's good advice. I'll start doing that from now on. Thanks!

Okay, so here's what you need to do: 1. First, double-check your online account. Make sure all your info is up to date and there are no pending issues. 2. If everything looks good online, you need to contact them directly. I know it's a pain, but it's necessary. 3. Try calling first thing in the morning, right when they open. If that doesn't work, keep trying throughout the day. 4. If you can't get through by phone, send an email. Be sure to include your claim number and the specific weeks you're inquiring about. 5. If you still don't hear back after a week, consider reaching out to your local state representative. They often have contacts in the unemployment office and can help push things along. 6. As a last resort, you might want to file an appeal. Even if there's nothing specific to appeal, it can sometimes get your claim in front of someone who can help. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! The system is overwhelmed, but you'll get through eventually. Good luck!

•This is solid advice. I'd add: document EVERYTHING. Every call, email, letter. It might come in handy later.

Have you tried reaching out on social media? Sometimes tweeting at them or messaging on Facebook can get a response. Worth a shot!

•This actually worked for me once! Got a DM from them within a day after tweeting. 👀

Ive herd that sometimes claims get stuck in the system if theres a small discrepancy. Like if your adress changed or something. Might be worth double checking all your info is correct
