Filed for UI benefits on 12/27, still not processed after a month. What can I do?
Hey everyone, I filed for unemployment benefits on December 27th and it's been over a month now. My claim still isn't being processed. Has anyone else experienced this kind of delay? I'm getting worried because I really need this money. Any advice on what I should do or who I should contact?

Ugh, welcome to the club. 🙄 I filed back in November and I'm STILL waiting. The system is so broken, it's ridiculous.

•@profile 3 Easy for you to say! Some of us have bills to pay and mouths to feed. 😤

Have you tried calling them? Sometimes you gotta be persistent and keep calling until you get through to a real person.

•I've tried calling so many times, but I always get stuck on hold for hours and then get disconnected. It's so frustrating!

•Pro tip: call right when they open. You might have better luck getting through.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/AsdxiF0IH1k

•Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work? How long did you have to wait?

•20 bucks? That's a rip-off. The government should make it easier to reach them for free.

•@profile 7 Yeah, it actually worked for me. I waited about 2 hours, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They just called me when an agent was ready. @profile 8 I get it, but for me, it was worth it. I was losing my mind trying to get through on my own.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Double-check your online account to make sure all info is correct and up-to-date. 2. Look for any pending tasks or requests for additional information. 3. Try contacting your local unemployment office directly, not just the main number. 4. Reach out to your state representative or senator's office. They can sometimes help push things along. 5. Document everything - dates you filed, called, any confirmation numbers, etc. 6. If you're really desperate, consider the paid calling service someone mentioned above. 7. Keep filing your weekly claims even if you haven't been approved yet. Hang in there, OP. The system is overwhelmed, but persistence is key. Don't give up!

I'm in the same boat, filed around the same time. This waiting game is killing me. Anyone know if we'll get backpay for all these weeks once it's finally processed?

•Yes, you should get backpay from your filing date. At least that's how it worked for me last year.

Plot twist: the unemployment office is secretly run by sloths. That's why everything takes foreverrrrr 🦥

Guys, I know it's tough, but remember the people working at the unemployment office are probably overwhelmed too. Let's try to be patient and kind when we do get through to someone.
