EDD Claim Pending After Certification - Need Review. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my unemployment claim. I certified for two weeks on Monday, but my status is still showing as pending and it says it needs review. Has anyone else experienced this? It's been a few days now and I'm getting worried. Any advice on what to do or how long this usually takes?

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. Certified on Sunday and still pending. This is so frustrating! 😤

How long have you been waiting? I'm on day 5 and starting to freak out

Only 3 days for me, but it feels like forever when you're counting on that money

Hang in there guys! Sometimes it takes up to 10 days. The system is just slow af 🐌

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

I was skeptical too, but I tried it and it actually worked. Saved me hours of frustration

20 bucks tho? That's steep when you're already broke 😬

I get it, but for me it was worth it to finally get answers. Plus I was spending that much on my phone bill trying to call anyway lol

Have you checked your UI Online account for any messages or requests for additional information? Sometimes they need more docs and don't tell you directly.

this happens ALL THE TIME. the EDD system is a joke. i swear they do this on purpose to make ppl give up 🤡

Preach! 🙌 It's like they're playing games with our lives

Here's what you need to do: 1. Keep certifying every two weeks, even if it's pending. 2. Check your UI Online account daily for updates or messages. 3. Try calling early in the morning, right when they open. That's usually the best time to get through. 4. If you can't get through on the phone, send a message through your UI Online account. 5. As a last resort, contact your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes help push claims through. Don't give up! It's a frustrating process, but persistence usually pays off. Good luck!

Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try calling early tomorrow morning.

This is solid advice. Contacting my assembly member was what finally got my claim unstuck after weeks of waiting.

anyone else notice that this always seems to happen right when rent is due? 🤔 coincidence? i think not

Pro tip: if u get someone on the phone, be super nice no matter how frustrated u are. The nice reps will sometimes go above and beyond to help u out

idk if this helps but I had a similar issue last month. Turns out there was a glitch in there system that was flagging a bunch of claims for review. It got sorted out after about a week without me having to do anything. Might be worth waiting a few more days before you start calling

A week?! Some of us can't afford to wait that long 😭

I know, it sucks. Just sharing my experience. Hope it gets resolved faster for OP!
