EDD claim stuck in pending status since 10/22, no updates. What to do?
Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my unemployment claim. It's been in pending processing status since my doctor submitted the form on 10/22. It's been weeks and the status hasn't changed at all. I haven't received any updates either. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on what I should do next?

I found a way to solve pending unemployment claim issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7MJHRlNrpg

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been stuck in pending hell for over a month now. It's like they just throw our claims into a black hole or something. Have you tried calling the EDD office? That's usually the next step, but good luck getting through 🙄

•Calling EDD is like winning the lottery these days. I spent 3 days straight trying to get through. Finally got someone on the line and they just told me to 'wait'. Super helpful 🙃

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold last week!

•Thanks for the advice! I actually tried calling today but couldn't get through. Gonna try again tomorrow morning when they open.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 😤

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. After weeks of trying to get through, I was desperate. Worth every penny tbh

•How long did you have to wait after using the service?

•It took about 2 hours total, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They called me when an agent was on the line.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact EDD, including dates and times. 2. Check your UI Online account daily for any updates or messages. 3. If you haven't already, try to contact your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes expedite claims. 4. Consider filing an appeal if it's been more than 3 weeks without any movement. 5. Keep certifying for benefits even if you're in pending status. 6. Check if there are any identity verification issues holding up your claim. Hang in there, the system is overwhelmed but persistence usually pays off!

•Wow, thank you so much for this detailed response! I'll definitely start keeping better records and reach out to my assembly member.

•This is solid advice. I'd add: make sure all your paperwork is in order. Sometimes they're waiting on a specific document and just haven't told you.

have you checked your spam folder? sometimes edd emails end up there and you miss important updates

I'm in the same boat, friend. It's been 6 weeks for me. This whole system is a joke. We need to organize and demand better treatment!

•Preach! 🙌 Maybe we should start a petition or something?

•Good luck with that. Politicians don't care about us little guys 😒

Have you tried faxing your documents? Sometimes that gets faster results than waiting for them to process online submissions.

•Faxing? What year is it, 1995? 😂 But seriously, I'll give it a shot if it might help. Thanks!

I've been stuck in this limbo since I filed AUGUST 23. It's impossible to get a hold of anyone, even though I've try several times a day, every day. In the meantime my credit has been trashed because I can't pay CC bills and I've had to borrow money to feed my kids. Now my FMLA is up and I have to consider going back to work even though my husband needs care, because I never heard a thing, and I need to survive. This broken process is shameful, and dangerous
