EDD Form 2504RE stuck in limbo for 4+ weeks - no progress showing. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my unemployment claim. I submitted a form to reinstate my claim for a few weeks in February and March, but it's been over a month and there's no progress showing. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on what I should do next?

Ugh, I feel your pain. The EDD system is such a mess rn. I had a similar issue last year and it took FOREVER to get resolved. Have you tried calling them? That's usually the fastest way to get answers.

I've been trying to call but can never get through. It's so frustrating! 😤

Pro tip: call right when they open. I usually have better luck getting through that way.

Yeah, calling is a nightmare. I swear they have like 2 people working the phones for the whole state 🙄

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds sketchy. Is it legit?

Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Have you checked your UI Online account? Sometimes updates show up there before anywhere else. Also, make sure you didn't miss any emails or messages from EDD asking for additional info.

I had the exact same problem last month! Here's what worked for me: 1. Double-check that you filled out Form 2504RE correctly. Any tiny mistake can cause delays. 2. If everything looks good, try submitting a new claim instead of reinstating. 3. Reach out to your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes expedite things. 4. As a last resort, file an appeal. It sounds extreme, but it can get things moving. Hang in there! The system is a mess, but persistence pays off.

Contacting your assembly member is lowkey the best advice. They have special channels to EDD and can work miracles sometimes.

Have you tried faxing the form? I know it sounds ancient, but sometimes that gets faster results than online submissions.

This is solid advice. I learned the hard way that keeping records is crucial when dealing with EDD.

I'll believe it when I see it. Politicians always promise to fix EDD during election season 🙄

There's some info about it on the state legislature's website. Looks promising but who knows how long it'll take to implement.
