NYDOL Unemployment Claim Pending for Over a Month - What Am I Missing?
Hey everyone, I'm getting really frustrated with my unemployment claim. It's been over a month since I filed and it's still pending. I've sent in everything they asked for, including mailing a copy of my termination letter. I'm not sure what else they could need. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on what I should do next?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same boat a few months ago. Have you tried calling them? Sometimes theres stuff they need that they dont tell you about 🙄

•Pro tip: call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and everything. It's the only way I ever got through

Check your online account if you haven't already. Sometimes they post notices there that they don't mail out. Also, double check your spam folder just in case.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•Sounds sketchy. Is it legit?

•Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical too but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny tbh

•20 bucks to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 🤦♂️

•I get it, but when you're waiting on thousands in benefits, $20 to actually get answers is worth it. Just my experience tho

Here's what I've learned from my experience and research: 1. Be persistent. Keep calling and checking your online account daily. 2. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and any correspondence. 3. Contact your local state representative. They can sometimes help push things along. 4. Check if there are any local legal aid organizations that can assist with unemployment issues. 5. Make sure you're responding to any requests for information ASAP. 6. If you can, try to speak with a supervisor when you do get through. 7. Consider reaching out via social media. Some people have had luck getting responses that way. Hang in there. The system is overwhelmed but you'll get through eventually!

I'm telling you, the whole system is rigged. They make it impossible on purpose so people just give up. It's all a scam 🤡

•Take off the tinfoil hat, bro. It's just underfunded and overwhelmed, not a conspiracy 🙄

Unpopular opinion: maybe there's an issue with your claim? Not trying to be a jerk, but sometimes people make mistakes without realizing it.

•I guess it's possible, but I triple-checked everything before submitting. And they haven't told me about any issues 🤷♂️

•Even if there is an issue, they should communicate that. The lack of transparency is the real problem here.
