EDD Claim Pending Since 2/27 - No Response for Over a Month! Help!

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I filed for unemployment back in February and my claim has been pending since the 27th. It's been over a month now and I'm starting to get really worried. Has anyone else experienced such a long wait time? Any advice on what I should do next? I've tried calling but can't get through to anyone. This is so frustrating!

Ugh, I feel your pain! I was in the same boat last year. It took me almost 2 months to get my claim processed. The system is so backed up its ridiculous. Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? Sometimes they can help speed things up.

Thanks for the suggestion! I hadn't thought of contacting my rep. Did you just email them or call their office?

I emailed first and then followed up with a call after a few days. They were actually pretty helpful! Good luck 🍀

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

I get it, it's not cheap. But for me, it was worth it to finally get my issue resolved. Just sharing what worked for me!

Here's what I did to finally get my claim processed: 1. Call first thing in the morning, right when they open 2. If you can't get through, try calling at odd times like 11:45 AM or 3:30 PM 3. Use all phone lines you have access to (cell, landline, work phone if possible) 4. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them 5. Write a detailed letter explaining your situation and mail it to them 6. Contact your state representative or senator's office 7. Check your online account daily for any updates or requests for additional info It's a pain, but persistence is key. Don't give up!

The whole system is broken af. I've been dealing with this bs for months. Sometimes I think they make it difficult on purpose to discourage people from claiming benefits. Stay strong OP, and don't let them wear you down!

Preach! 🙌 The system is definitely rigged against us

Idk about that, I think they're just understaffed and overwhelmed. Still sucks tho

@profile12 maybe, but that doesn't explain why they can't update their ancient tech. it's 2023 ffs!

Hey OP, hang in there! I know it's tough, but try to stay positive. Have you considered looking for temp work while you wait? Might help ease some financial stress.

Thanks for the encouragement! I've been doing some gig work on the side, but it's not enough to cover all my expenses. Just hoping this gets resolved soon.
