EDD claim status? Submitted doctor's form a month ago, no response yet. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I filed my unemployment claim about a month ago and I'm still waiting to hear back about my status. I'm especially worried because I had to submit a doctor's form with my application. Has anyone else been in this situation? How long did it take for you to get a response? I'm starting to get anxious because bills are piling up and I really need this to come through. Any advice or experiences would be super helpful!

Ugh, I feel ya. The waiting game is the worst 😫 I applied around the same time as you and still haven't heard anything back. It's like they're purposely trying to make this as stressful as possible!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but with a doctor's form involved, it might take even longer. They have to verify everything and that can slow down the process. When I had to submit medical docs, it took almost 2 months to get a response. Hang in there!

2 months?! 😱 Oh man, I hope it doesn't take that long. Did you do anything to speed up the process?

Honestly, not really. I just had to wait it out. But def keep an eye on your mail and email for any requests for additional info. They might need more from your doc.

Hey there! I've been through this rodeo before, so here's what I've learned: • First, don't panic. The EDD is notoriously slow, especially with medical claims. • Check your online account daily. Sometimes they update info there before sending mail. • If you haven't already, set up email notifications for your EDD account. • Keep all your paperwork organized. You might need to reference it if they ask for more info. • If it's been over 3 weeks since you applied, try calling. Yes, it's a nightmare, but sometimes it's necessary. • Consider reaching out to your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes help push things along. Remember, the process can take 2-6 weeks normally, and even longer with medical forms involved. It sucks, but try to stay patient. Good luck!

This is solid advice right here šŸ’Æ

Thank you so much for this detailed response! It's really helpful to have a roadmap. I'll definitely start checking my online account more regularly.

Wait, assembly members can help? How does that work?

Yep! They have staff dedicated to helping constituents with state agencies. Google your district and give em a call. They can sometimes work miracles!

Pro tip: I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video for more info: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo. Just sharing what worked for me šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

This whole system is a joke. They expect us to just wait around with no income while they take their sweet time? It's criminal 😔

Preach! šŸ™Œ The government really doesn't care about us little guys

It's frustrating for sure, but remember the staff are probably overwhelmed too. Doesn't make it right, but it helps to keep perspective.

Quick question - did you get any kind of confirmation when you submitted your doctor's form? I'm about to apply and want to make sure I do everything right.

0 coins

Yeah, I got an email confirmation after I uploaded the form to my account. Make sure you keep that email just in case!

Thanks! That's super helpful. Fingers crossed my process goes smoothly šŸ¤ž
