Filed for UI in April, doctor submitted info, still no payment. What gives?
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I filed for unemployment back in April, and my doctor submitted their part a couple days later. It's been over a month now, and I still haven't received any payment. I even went back to work in early May. Anyone else dealing with this kind of delay? Any ideas on what I should do next?

Ugh, welcome to the club 🙄 I filed in March and still nothing. The system is so backed up its ridiculous. Have you tried calling them? Good luck getting through tho

•Calling is a nightmare! I spent 3 days trying to get through. When I finally did, they just told me to wait. So helpful 🙄

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins on hold that way

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•I get the skepticism, but it really did work for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth it IMO

•It took about 2 hours for me, but I didn't have to do anything. Just got a call when they reached someone

Here's what you need to do: 1. Check your UI Online account for any pending tasks or messages. Sometimes they need additional info but don't tell you. 2. If nothing there, try calling. Be persistent. Early morning or late afternoon tend to be better. 3. If you can't get through, consider contacting your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes expedite claims. 4. Make sure all your certifications are up to date, even if you've returned to work. 5. Double check that your doctor's info was received correctly. Sometimes there's a disconnect there. 6. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. It can be helpful if you need to escalate the issue. Hang in there! The system is overwhelmed but they'll get to you eventually.

This is why we need to overhaul the entire unemployment system. It's a joke that people have to wait this long for help they desperately need.

•For real. Other countries figured this out ages ago. We're living in the stone age

Quick question - did you receive any kind of confirmation when you filed? Might be worth double checking that everything went through correctly on their end.

•Yeah, I got an email confirmation. But maybe I should log in and make sure everything looks right. Thanks for the suggestion!
