EDD SDI payments stopped - Doctor's certification submitted, no movement since July 1st
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with my unemployment payments. They stopped on June 12 because I was missing my doctor's certification for the extension. I submitted it on July 1st, but I haven't seen any movement since then. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to get this sorted out quickly? I'm getting pretty worried about bills piling up.

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

β’$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous! The system is so broken.

Plot twist: EDD is actually run by a bunch of sloths. That's why everything takes forever. π¦₯

Ugh, I feel your pain. The EDD system is such a mess rn. I had a similar issue last year. Here's what worked for me: 1. Call them first thing in the morning, like right when they open 2. Keep all your docs ready - claim number, dates, everything 3. Be super nice to the rep, even if you're frustrated 4. Ask for a supervisor if the first person can't help Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Call EDD immediately. Use the trick of calling right at 8:01 AM when they open. 2. Have all your info ready: claim number, last payment date, date you submitted the doctor's certification. 3. Be polite but firm. Explain your situation clearly. 4. Ask these specific questions: - Can they confirm receipt of your doctor's certification? - What's the current status of your payment processing? - When can you expect your missing payments to be issued? 5. If the rep can't help, politely ask to speak to a tier 2 specialist or a supervisor. 6. Take detailed notes during the call. 7. If they give you any tasks to complete, do them ASAP. 8. If you don't get a resolution, consider reaching out to your local assemblymember or senator's office. They often have liaisons who can help with EDD issues. 9. As a last resort, file an appeal if they deny your claim. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! Good luck!

Pro tip: keep a detailed log of all your interactions with EDD. Dates, times, names of reps you talked to, what they said. It'll help if you need to escalate your case later.

From what I've read about Claimyr, it offers an interesting service that can be a real time-saver for those struggling to get through to EDD. The $20 fee might seem high, but for many, especially those who have spent hours unsuccessfully trying to reach a representative, it could be worth the cost. However, it's important to remember that there's no guarantee of quick resolution once you do get through. EDD procedures can be slow, regardless of how promptly you connect with an agent. As with any service, it's wise to weigh the cost against potential benefits and keep in mind that for some, sticking with traditional methods might still be more feasible. Claimyr is one tool in a toolkit that can help, but patience and persistence often remain the key ingredients for dealing with complex bureaucratic systems like the EDD.
