EDD Extension Approval Taking Forever - Received Last Payment in September, Still Waiting
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I got my last unemployment payment back in September and I've been waiting since then to hear if my extension was approved. I sent in the doctor's certification they asked for, and they confirmed they received it. But now it's just radio silence. Anyone else dealing with this? How long did it take for your extension to get approved?

Ugh, I feel ya. I've been waiting for 3 months now. Its like they just forget about us once we submit everything. Have you tried calling them? Sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

•I've tried calling but can never get through. It's so frustrating! How many times did you have to call before you got someone on the line?

•Honestly, I lost count 😅 I think I tried like 50 times over a couple days. It's ridiculous how hard it is to reach them.

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through on my third try doing that. Good luck! 🍀

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda steep just to talk to someone...

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo. They even refund you if it doesn't work.

The whole system is broken af. I've been waiting 6 months for my extension. SIX. MONTHS. And every time I call, they give me a different excuse. I'm bout ready to give up tbh 😤

Here's what I've learned from my experience and research: 1. Extensions can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months to process, depending on your case and current workload. 2. If you haven't heard back after 30 days, definitely try to contact them. 3. Make sure all your certifications are up to date while you wait. 4. Check your online account regularly for any updates or requests for additional info. 5. If you're really stuck, consider reaching out to your local state representative. They can sometimes expedite things. Hang in there, OP. The waiting game sucks, but persistence usually pays off eventually.

Have you checked your spam folder? I know it sounds dumb, but I missed an important email from them cuz it went to spam. Almost cost me my benefits!

Guys I think I cracked the code. If you press 2, then 4, then 1, then 3 when calling, you get to a different queue. I got through in 20 minutes yesterday!

I'm in the exact same boat! Filed my extension paperwork in early September and still haven't heard anything back. It's been almost 2 months now and I'm starting to panic about my bills. I've tried calling but like everyone says, it's impossible to get through. Really hoping someone here has some good news or at least knows what the typical timeline is supposed to be. This whole process is so stressful when you're already dealing with a disability 😔
