EDD unemployment claim approved but no payment received - What to do?

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. My unemployment claim was approved, but I still haven't received any payment. It's been a while and I'm starting to get worried. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm not sure what to do next. I've tried calling but can't get through. Any advice would be really appreciated!

I found a way to solve unemployment payment delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-e9t_ZLAXs

not to be that guy, but have you triple-checked that you've certified for your weeks? I've seen people forget and wonder why they're not getting paid

0 coins

Yeah, I've definitely certified. Good lookin out tho!

0 coins

Lol I actually did forget to certify once. Felt like such a 🤡

Don't forget to keep a log of all your interactions with the EDD, including dates, times, and who you spoke with. It can be helpful if you need to escalate the issue.

Great advice! Documentation can be a lifesaver in these situations.

I second this. Keeping records helped me when I had to follow up multiple times.

its rediculous that we even have to jump thru all these hoops. the system is broken af 😤

Preach! 🙌 We need to bombard our representatives with complaints about this mess.

0 coins

For real. It's like they WANT us to give up and not get our benefits. Stay strong y'all 💪

Have you considered emailing the EDD support? Sometimes detailed emails can get you a quicker response than waiting on the phone.

I had some luck with email once, but it can be hit or miss depending on the volume.

Make sure to include all your claim details in the email. It helps them process your request faster.

Guys, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

0 coins

I get the skepticism, but it's totally legit. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

0 coins

How long did you have to wait after using this service?

0 coins

Only about 20 minutes! Way better than the hours I spent trying to get through on my own.

0 coins

I've used Claimyr too, and it can be a real time-saver. However, it's good to weigh the cost against other free options.

Welcome to the club, buddy. Seems like half the state is in the same boat. Have you checked your UI Online account for any updates?

0 coins

Yeah, I've been checking it obsessively. Nothing new there. Just says "paid" but no money in my account 😫

0 coins

Ugh, that sucks. Maybe try reaching out on Twitter? I've heard some ppl have had luck getting responses there.

0 coins

Twitter can sometimes work, especially if you use the right hashtags and mention the right accounts. Worth a shot!

pro tip: if u get thru to someone who seems clueless, politely ask to speak with a tier 2 specialist. they have more authority to fix issues

0 coins

This! 💯 Tier 2 reps are the real MVPs of the EDD world.

0 coins

Yesss! A tier 2 rep fixed my issue in like 10 minutes after weeks of getting nowhere.

0 coins

It's good to know that tier 2 specialists can be more efficient. Helps to escalate strategically!

One overlooked option is checking with local community services or non-profits. They sometimes offer assistance with navigating unemployment benefits.

0 coins

That's a good point. Local resources can sometimes offer unique support that the state system overlooks.

0 coins

I found a local legal aid group that helped guide me through my issues. Definitely check in your area.

0 coins

Have you checked if there's a Bank of America EDD card issued in your name? Sometimes they send those out without notifying you properly.

0 coins

Whoa, I didn't even think of that. How would I check for this?

0 coins

You can call BofA EDD customer service at 1-866-692-9374. They can tell you if a card's been issued.

I was in the exact same situation last month. It's frustrating as hell, but hang in there. Here's what worked for me: 1. Double-check your payment method in UI Online. Make sure it's correct. 2. Look for any pending interviews or additional info requests. Sometimes they're hidden. 3. If possible, try calling right when they open. I got through after a few tries. 4. Consider contacting your local assembly member. They can sometimes expedite things. Hope this helps! Let me know if you need any more info.

Thanks so much for the detailed advice! I'll def try calling early tomorrow. Fingers crossed 🤞

0 coins

The assembly member tip is gold. They helped me sort out my mess in like 2 weeks!

0 coins

have you tried sacraficing a goat to the EDD gods? 🐐🔪 jk jk but seriously this system is a joke

0 coins

LOL maybe we should all chip in for a giant goat sacrafice. Cant hurt at this point 😂

0 coins

Haha, I'm desperate enough to try anything at this point!

0 coins

Hang in there, OP. I know it's tough, but your payment will come through eventually. Took me 3 months to get mine sorted, but it did happen. Don't lose hope!

0 coins

Thanks for the encouragement. It helps to know I'm not alone in this mess.

I'm telling you, the trick is to call at exactly 8:01 am. Not 8:00, not 8:02. 8:01 on the dot. It's like playing the unemployment lottery 🎰

0 coins

This is some next-level EDD hacking 😂 I'm gonna try it tomorrow!

0 coins

Mei Lin

Watch them change it to 8:02 now that you've spilled the secret 🤫

It's crazy how precise timing can sometimes be the key to getting through. Worth a try, though results may vary!
