EDD payment sent but not in account - what to do?

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I got a notice saying my unemployment payment was sent, but it's not showing up in my account. It's been a couple of days now and I'm starting to worry. Has anyone else dealt with this? What should I do? I tried calling but can't get through to a real person. Any advice would be really appreciated!

I found a way to solve unemployment payment not received, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbQAfADk9lk

Ugh, I feel your pain! This happened to me last month. First thing you should do is double-check your account info on file with EDD. Sometimes they have the wrong account number and the money goes into limbo. If that's not it, you might need to ask them to trace the payment. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely check my account info. How long did it take for your issue to get resolved?

It took about a week and a half, but I had to be really persistent. Keep calling and don't give up!

A week and a half? You got lucky! I've been waiting for almost a month now 😭

Have you checked with your bank? Sometimes there's a hold on EDD deposits, especially if it's your first payment. Might be worth giving them a call to see if they can see any pending transactions.

Listen up, I've been through this rodeo before and I've got the secret sauce. You need to use this website called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you to a live agent when one picks up. It costs $20, but trust me, it's worth every penny. Here's a video explaining how it works: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20 just to make a phone call? That's highway robbery! 🤬

I know it sounds crazy, but it seriously works. I was skeptical too, but after spending hours trying to get through, this was a lifesaver. And yeah, $20 sucks, but it's better than not getting your money at all, right?

Can confirm, I used this last week and got through in like 30 minutes. Worth it if you're desperate.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Double-check your account info on EDD's website 2. Call your bank to see if there are any pending deposits 3. If neither of those work, you need to contact EDD and request a payment trace 4. Keep detailed records of all your communications 5. If you can't get through on the phone, try reaching out via social media or email Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up until you get your money!

This is great advice. I'd also add: check if your local assemblyperson has an EDD liaison. They can sometimes help speed things up.

Preach! 🙌 It's like they're purposely making it difficult.

For real tho. We're already stressed about being unemployed, and then we gotta deal with this bs? Not cool, EDD. Not cool at all.

Have you tried checking your spam folder? I know it sounds dumb, but sometimes EDD emails end up there and they might have sent you important info about your payment.

idk if this helps, but I had a similar issue and it turned out there was a flag on my account for potential fraud. Had to verify my identity again. Might be worth asking about that when you finally get through to someone.

Oh man, I hope that's not the case for me. How long did it take to resolve the fraud flag?

It took about 3 weeks total. But once I got someone on the phone, they cleared it up pretty quick. Hang in there!

This is so frustrating! I'm going through the exact same thing right now - got the notification that payment was issued 5 days ago but nothing in my account. I've been calling nonstop but just get that automated message saying call volume is too high. Has anyone had success getting through early in the morning? I'm thinking of trying to call right when they open at 8am. Really hoping this gets sorted out soon because rent is due! 😰

Yes! Early morning calling definitely works better. I've had the most success calling right at 8am when they open - got through twice that way. Also try calling again around 12pm when people might be taking lunch breaks. The key is to keep redialing immediately if you get the busy message. Don't give up! I know how stressful it is when rent is due. You might also want to reach out to your landlord to let them know what's happening - most are understanding about EDD delays since it's so common. Hang in there! 🤞
