EDD payment never issued - no explanation given. What to do?
Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my unemployment claim. I filed a while back and was expecting a payment, but nothing has come through yet. I'm starting to get worried because I haven't received any notices or letters explaining why the payment wasn't issued. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on what I should do next?

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. It's so frustrating when you're counting on that money and it just... doesn't show up. Have you tried calling the EDD? That's usually the first step, but good luck getting through 🙄

•I've been trying to call for days but can never get through. It's like hitting a brick wall every time 😫

•Pro tip: call right when they open. Set an alarm and start dialing at 7:59 AM. Sometimes you can get through before the lines get jammed.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video for more info: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

•I was skeptical at first too, but it really did work for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

•$20 seems steep just to make a phone call. The system is so broken that we have to pay extra just to get basic service 🤦♂️

•I get it, but for me, it was worth it to finally get some answers. Time is money, ya know?

Here's what you need to do: 1. Check your UI Online account for any pending tasks or messages. 2. Make sure all your certifications are up to date. 3. Double-check that your payment method (EDD debit card or direct deposit) is set up correctly. 4. Look for any disqualification notices in your inbox or mail. 5. If everything looks good on your end, you'll need to contact EDD directly. If you can't get through on the phone, try sending a message through your UI Online account. It's slow, but they do respond eventually. Also, check if there are any known system issues or delays announced on the EDD website or social media. Sometimes there are glitches that affect a lot of people at once. Hang in there, OP. The system is a mess, but persistence usually pays off.

•This is solid advice. I'd add: keep a record of all your attempts to contact them. It might come in handy if there's a dispute later.

I had a similar issue last year. Turns out there was a flag on my account because my former employer contested the claim. Took weeks to sort out. Might be worth asking if there's any issue like that on your claim.

•Oh man, I hadn't even thought of that. My departure from my last job wasn't exactly smooth... I'll definitely ask about this. Thanks!

Welcome to EDD hell, where the rules are made up and your needs don't matter 🤡 Seriously tho, don't give up. Keep calling, keep documenting everything. It's a pain, but you'll get through eventually.

•lmao too real 😂 EDD should hire some of us, we probably know the system better than they do at this point

PSA: If anyone's having trouble with their claim, contact your local state representative's office! They have liaisons who can escalate issues with EDD. Helped me break through the bureaucracy when I was stuck in limbo for months.

•This! 👆 My assemblyman's office was a game-changer. Wish I'd known about this option sooner.
