EDD payment never arrived - what to do?
Hey everyone, I'm having some serious issues with my unemployment payment. I was supposed to receive it but it never showed up in my account. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm getting really worried because I need that money to pay my bills. Any advice on what I should do next?

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. It's so frustrating! Have you tried calling EDD? That's usually the first step, but good luck getting through 🙄

•I've been trying to call all week but can't get through. It's like they don't want us to reach them 😤

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold last time!

•30 minutes? You struck gold! I've been on hold for hours before 😩

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•$20? That's steep. Is it really worth it?

•I was skeptical too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Totally worth it IMO.

•I used it last week and got through in like 30 minutes. Best $20 I've spent in a while lol

Have you checked your UI Online account? Sometimes there are messages or notices there that explain payment delays.

This happened to me last month. Turns out there was an identity verification issue. Check if you have any pending tasks or forms to fill out in your account.

•Thanks, I'll double-check that. How long did it take to resolve once you found out?

•It took about 2 weeks after I submitted the additional docs they needed. Hang in there!

The EDD system is such a joke. They expect us to live off air while they sort out their mess? 🤡

Here's what you need to do: 1. Check your UI Online account for any pending tasks or messages. 2. Verify your payment method is correct (direct deposit or EDD debit card). 3. If using the debit card, make sure it's activated. 4. Look for any disqualification notices or overpayment issues. 5. Try to contact EDD through their online messaging system. 6. If all else fails, keep calling or use a service to get through to a rep. Remember, sometimes payments can be delayed due to system updates or high volume of claims. If it's been more than 10 business days since your claim was approved, definitely follow up. Hope this helps! Let us know how it goes.

•@Sean Murphy this is exactly the kind of comprehensive help people need! I went through something similar a few months ago and following these steps saved me weeks of stress. One thing I d'add - if you re'using the EDD debit card, check if there are any holds on it. Sometimes banks flag unusual activity patterns. Also @Javier Gomez, don t'panic if step 1-4 don t'reveal anything obvious - it might just be a processing delay on their end, but at least you ll'have ruled out the common issues.

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They can sometimes help expedite EDD issues.

•This! My assemblyman's office was super helpful when I had payment issues last year.

idk if this helps but I saw on twitter that EDD is having some system maintenance this week. Might be causing delays?

OP, how long has it been since you certified? Sometimes it takes a few days for the payment to process.

•It's been over two weeks since I certified. Usually it only takes a couple days 😕
