EDD not sending payment notifications or confirming receipt of income docs - what to do?
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my unemployment claim. I haven't received any notifications about my payments and I'm not sure if they got my income documents. Has anyone else dealt with this? What should I do?

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. It's so frustrating when you don't know what's going on with your claim. Have you tried logging into your online account to check the status?

•Yeah, I've checked online but it doesn't show any updates. It's like my documents disappeared into a black hole or something 😫

•Black hole is right! 🕳️ The unemployment system is a mess rn. I had to wait weeks before I saw any updates on my account.

•Oof, that sucks. Maybe try calling them? I know it's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Wow, that sounds too good to be true. Does it really work? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

•I was skeptical too, but I was desperate after trying to call for weeks. It actually worked for me! Got through to an agent in about an hour.

•Idk man, sounds like a scam to me. Why should we have to pay to talk to unemployment? 🤔

•I get the skepticism, but it's not a scam. It's just a service that saves you time. Think about how much your time is worth sitting on hold for hours.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Double-check that you uploaded all required documents correctly. Sometimes the system glitches and doesn't save them. 2. Call the unemployment office first thing in the morning. Like, right when they open. You'll have a better chance of getting through. 3. If you can't get through on the phone, try sending a message through your online account. Be specific about your issue. 4. Keep a record of all your attempts to contact them. This can be helpful if there are delays in your payments. 5. Check if there are any local unemployment assistance offices open. Sometimes in-person help is available. 6. As a last resort, contact your local state representative. They can sometimes intervene on your behalf. Don't give up! The system is overwhelmed, but persistence usually pays off.

•This is solid advice. I'd add: make sure you're calling the right number. There are different lines for different issues and using the wrong one can waste your time.

I swear the unemployment office is run by clowns 🤡 How hard is it to process some paperwork and send a notification? We're all out here struggling and they can't even do the bare minimum.

•C'mon, that's not fair. The system is overloaded and the workers are doing their best. It sucks for everyone.

Pro tip: set up email notifications for your account if you haven't already. Sometimes they send updates that way even if the online portal doesn't show changes.

•Oh, I didn't know about that! Thanks for the tip, I'll do that right away.

anyone else notice that the unemployment website is always "under maintenance" when you actually need to use it? 🙄
