EDD payment missing & started new job - how to report hours?

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my unemployment payments. I haven't received my last payment and I'm not sure what to do. On top of that, I just started working again and need to report my hours. Does anyone know how to handle this situation? I'm worried about messing up my claim or losing benefits I'm entitled to. Any advice would be really appreciated!

I've been there, buddy. Here's what you need to do: 1. Call EDD ASAP. Tell them about the missing payment and your return to work. 2. Have your payment history ready when you call. 3. Ask for a form to report your work hours. They should send you one or tell you how to access it online. 4. Be prepared to provide your new work schedule and income. 5. Keep detailed records of all your communications with EDD. Don't worry too much. They deal with this all the time. Just be honest and upfront about everything.

This is solid advice 💯 I'd add: make sure to certify for any remaining weeks you were eligible, even if you're working now.

Good luck getting through to EDD tho 🙄 I've been trying for weeks!

True, getting through can be a pain. But keep trying! It's worth it to get everything sorted out properly.

Congrats on getting back to work! That's awesome. Make sure you report your income accurately each week when you certify. If you earn too much, you might not get benefits that week, but your claim stays open for a while in case your hours get reduced.

Thanks! Do you know how long the claim stays open? I'm worried about my hours being inconsistent.

I think it's like a year or until you use up all your benefits, whichever comes first. But double-check with EDD to be sure.

Hey guys, I found a method to actually get someone on the phone at EDD. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds sketchy. Is this legit?

Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Wait, we have to PAY to talk to EDD now? That's messed up.

I get it, but think about how much time you waste trying to get through. For me, it was worth it to just get it done.

make sure u keep ALL ur pay stubs from ur new job. EDD might ask for them later to verify ur reported income. learned that the hard way 😩

Has anyone else noticed that their payments are coming later than usual lately? I'm usually paid on Tuesday, but last week it didn't hit until Friday. Just wondering if it's a widespread issue or just me.

Same here! I thought I was going crazy. Glad it's not just me.

I heard they're updating their system or something. Might be causing delays.

Pro tip: set up email notifications for your EDD account. That way you'll know right away if there's an issue with your claim or if they need additional info from you.

Thanks for the tip! Just did it. Hopefully it'll help me stay on top of things.

Lol for real. I'm just over here playing unemployment roulette every time I certify 🎰

It's a full-time job just trying to navigate the system. Ironic, huh? 😂

Hey OP, don't forget to check your spam folder for emails from EDD. Sometimes important stuff ends up there. Also, make sure your address is up to date in their system if you've moved recently.
