EDD: Missing a day of unemployment benefits - What to do?
Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my unemployment benefits. I just realized I'm missing a day of benefits and I'm not sure what to do. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on how to handle it or who to contact?

Ugh, that sucks. I've been there before. First thing you should do is double-check your claim history on the EDD website. Sometimes it's just a glitch in the system and it'll show up after a day or two.

•Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely check that out. How long did it take for yours to show up?

•For me, it took about 48 hours. If it doesn't show up after that, you might need to give them a call. Good luck!

•Yeah, the EDD website can be a real pain sometimes. I swear it's held together with duct tape and prayers 🙄

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•I was skeptical at first too, but it really worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

•20 bucks? That's highway robbery! The system is so broken we have to pay just to talk to someone 😡

•I get it, but for me, it was worth it. Time is money, and I was wasting whole days trying to get through.

Here's what you need to do to resolve a missing day of benefits: 1. Log into your EDD account and review your claim history 2. Check if you certified for that week correctly 3. Look for any pending issues or notifications 4. If everything looks correct on your end, call the EDD 5. When you get through, explain the situation calmly and provide any necessary documentation 6. Ask for a claim specialist if the first rep can't help 7. Keep detailed notes of your call, including date, time, and rep's name 8. Follow up with a secure message through your EDD portal Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up if you don't get through on the first try. Good luck!

I had a similar issue last month. Turns out it was because of a holiday. Check if your missing day falls on a holiday - they sometimes process those differently.

•Oh, that's interesting. I didn't even think about holidays. I'll double-check that, thanks!

OP, whatever you do, DON'T let this slide. I made that mistake and it snowballed into a huge mess. Fight for every penny you're owed!

Has anyone else noticed that these issues seem to be happening more frequently lately? I wonder if there's been a change in the system or if they're just overwhelmed.

•Now that you mention it, I've seen a lot more posts about missing days and delayed payments. Maybe we should start a megathread to track these issues?

•I heard they updated their software recently. Probably just broke everything in the process lol

I went through this exact same thing a few months ago! Here's what worked for me: First, check if you accidentally skipped certifying for that day or if there was a technical glitch during certification. Sometimes the system times out and doesn't save your responses properly. If that's the case, you can usually re-certify for that period. Also, make sure to screenshot everything - your claim history, certification confirmations, etc. Having documentation saved my butt when I had to appeal a similar issue. The whole process took about 3 weeks to resolve, but I did get all my missing benefits back-dated. Stay persistent and don't let them brush you off!
