Owed unemployment benefits for months, no payment yet. NYDOL help?

Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my unemployment benefits. I'm owed for a couple months from last year, but I haven't received anything yet. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to get this sorted out?

Ugh, I feel ya. The unemployment system is such a mess rn. Have you tried calling them? It's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

Yeah, I've been trying to call but can never get through. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and everything. Sometimes you can get through faster that way.

Or try calling at the end of the day. Sometimes theres less traffic then 🤷‍♂️

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Sounds sketchy. Is it legit?

Totally get the skepticism, but yeah it's legit. Saved me hours of frustration.

How long did it take to get through?

It took about 2 hours, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They just called me when an agent was on the line.

Make sure you have all your documentation ready when you do get through. They'll ask for dates, previous employers, etc. Being prepared can make the process go smoother.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes there are messages or updates there that explain whats going on with your claim.

Yeah, I've been checking regularly but there's nothing new. It's like my claim is just sitting there 😫

I had a similar issue last year. Turns out there was a glitch in their system that was holding up a bunch of claims. It took forever, but they eventually sorted it out and I got backpay. Hang in there!

Here's what I've learned from dealing with unemployment benefits: • Always keep detailed records of your claims, including dates and confirmation numbers • Check your online account daily for updates • If you can't get through on the phone, try reaching out via email or their social media accounts • Consider contacting your local representative's office - they can sometimes help push things along • Be persistent but polite when you do get someone on the phone • If you're really struggling, look into local food banks or assistance programs while you wait Remember, you're entitled to these benefits. Don't give up!

Conspiracy theory: they make it hard on purpose so people just give up and they save money 👀

Have you tried faxing your documents? I know it sounds ancient, but sometimes that gets attention faster than calling or emailing.
