EDD Payment Delay: Filed in January, Still No Money. What to Do?
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my unemployment payments. I filed at the end of January and still haven't received anything. Has anyone else experienced delays like this? Any advice on what I should do next?

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. Filed in early February and crickets so far. This is so frustrating! 😤

•Have you tried calling them? Sometimes that can help speed things up.

•I've tried but can never get through. It's like playing the lottery tryna reach a human 🙄

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins on hold that way!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

•How long did it take for them to get through?

•It took about an hour and a half, but I didn't have to do anything. Just got a call when they reached someone.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Check your UI Online account for any pending tasks or messages. 2. Make sure all your certifications are up to date. 3. Double-check that your payment method (EDD debit card or direct deposit) is set up correctly. 4. If everything looks good on your end, you'll need to contact EDD directly. 5. Be persistent with calling - early morning or late afternoon tend to have shorter wait times. 6. If you can't get through by phone, try sending a message through your UI Online account. 7. As a last resort, contact your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes help expedite claims. Remember, there's often a delay between filing and receiving your first payment, but it shouldn't be more than a few weeks. If it's been over a month, something's definitely off.

•Cut them some slack, they're probably understaffed and overworked.

Anyone else notice that the system seems to glitch out every other Tuesday? Or is it just me? 🤔

Pro tip: document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every email. You never know when you'll need to prove you've been trying to resolve the issue.

Has anyone tried reaching out to their state representative? I've heard that can sometimes help speed things up.
