EDD Payment Letter Sent After Christmas - No Response Yet. What to Do?
Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my unemployment benefits. I sent in a payment letter right after Christmas, but I haven't heard anything back yet. It's been a while now and I'm starting to get worried. Has anyone else experienced long delays like this? Any advice on what I should do next?

Ugh, I feel your pain. The unemployment office is so slow these days. I had to wait almost 2 months to hear back about my claim. It's ridiculous!

•2 months? You're lucky! I've been waiting for 4 months now. This system is completely broken 😡

•Guys, have you tried calling them? Sometimes that can speed things up.

•Calling? LOL good luck getting through. I spent hours on hold and never got anyone.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit?

•Yeah, I was skeptical at first too, but I tried it and it actually worked. Saved me hours of frustration.

•I get it, but for me it was worth it to finally get my issue resolved. Time is money, ya know?

Have you tried checking your online account? Sometimes they update info there before sending out letters.

This is why we need to overhaul the entire unemployment system. It's not equipped to handle high volume situations like we've seen recently. We should be writing to our representatives about this!

Here's what I've learned from dealing with the unemployment office for the past year: 1. Be persistent. Call every day if you have to. 2. Keep detailed records of all your communications. 3. Check your online account regularly for updates. 4. If possible, submit documents online rather than by mail. 5. Reach out to your local representative if you're really stuck. 6. Join Facebook groups or forums for your state's unemployment issues - sometimes you can get insider tips. 7. Be prepared with all your info when you do get through to someone. Hope this helps! Hang in there, OP.

I'm in the same boat, sent in some docs in November and still crickets. This whole system is a clown show 🤡
