EDD payments not processing & forms needed for benefits continuation - Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having a really frustrating issue with my unemployment benefits. My payments aren't being processed and I need to submit some forms to continue my benefits. Has anyone else dealt with this? It's been weeks and I'm getting worried about my finances. Any advice on how to speed things up or who to contact?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same boat last month. Have you tried calling the EDD office? It's a nightmare to get through, but it's the only way I finally got my issue resolved.

•I've been trying to call for days but can never get through. It's so frustrating! How long did it take you to finally reach someone?

•It took me about a week of constant calling. I'd start dialing right when they opened and just kept hitting redial. It's a pain, but persistence pays off eventually.

•A week?! That's insane. The system is so broken 😡

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•I'm skeptical. Why should we have to pay to get basic customer service? 🤔

•I get the skepticism, but it honestly saved me weeks of frustration. The $20 was worth it to get my benefits sorted out quickly. Just sharing what worked for me!

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes there are messages or requests for additional info that don't get sent by mail. Worth a shot if you haven't already!

This is why we need serious reform in the unemployment system. It's a joke that people have to jump through so many hoops just to get the benefits they're entitled to. 😤

•Preach! 🙌 The whole system needs an overhaul. It's not equipped to handle the volume of claims, especially during economic downturns.

•Yeah but good luck getting politicians to care about improving it. They only pay attention when it affects them personally 🙄

Here's what worked for me: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact EDD, including dates and times. 2. Reach out to your local state representative's office. They often have liaisons who can escalate your case. 3. Be persistent with calling. Use auto-dialers if you can. 4. Check your spam folder regularly. Sometimes important emails end up there. 5. If you're really stuck, consider seeking help from a legal aid organization that specializes in unemployment issues. Hang in there, OP. It's a frustrating process, but don't give up!

•Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try reaching out to my state rep. Didn't even think of that.

Has anyone else noticed that the EDD website is always "undergoing maintenance" when you actually need to use it? It's like they're trolling us at this point.
