EDD suddenly stopped paying benefits - no explanation given. What to do?
Hey everyone, I'm having a really frustrating issue with my unemployment benefits. They suddenly stopped paying me and I have no idea why. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on what I should do next? I've tried calling but can't get through to anyone. This is seriously stressing me out.

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. It's been weeks since I got my last payment and I'm starting to panic. The system is so broken, it's ridiculous.

Weeks? Try months 😭 I've been waiting since March and still nothing. This is beyond frustrating.

Have you guys tried contacting your local representatives? Sometimes they can help push things through faster.

I found a method to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous, we shouldn't have to pay for basic customer service 🙄

I get the skepticism, but it honestly saved me weeks of frustration. Worth every penny imho. They got me through in like 2 hours when I'd been trying for days.

Can confirm, I used it too. Felt kinda silly paying but man, the relief of actually talking to a human was worth it.

Here's what worked for me: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. 2. Check your online account for any notices or requests for additional info. 3. Try calling right when they open or just before they close. 4. If all else fails, contact your state representative or senator. 5. Be persistent and don't give up! Hang in there, OP. The system is a mess but you'll get through eventually!

Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely start keeping better records. Any specific tips for getting through on the phone?

Glad to help! For phone calls, try using multiple phones if you can. Some people have luck with one line while others don't. Also, Tuesdays and Wednesdays seem to be less busy in my experience.

This happened to me last year. Turns out they flagged my account for potential fraud because I moved during the claim period. Took forever to sort out. Check if there's any identity verification stuff you need to do.

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the main line, try calling some of the other departments. Sometimes they can transfer you internally to the right person. I got lucky with the employer line once.

Isn't that kinda unethical tho? Like ur clogging up other lines?

I mean, maybe? But when the system is this broken, you gotta do what you gotta do. 🤷♀️

Anyone else feel like they're playing unemployment roulette? Some weeks I get paid, some I don't. No rhyme or reason to it 🎰

Guys, I'm telling you, email is the way to go. I know it sounds old school, but I finally got a response after sending like 5 emails. Just keep it short, include your claim number, and be specific about your issue.

Has anyone tried going to the office in person? I'm thinking of camping out there until someone helps me lol

I tried that last month. Waited 4 hours just to be told I needed to call the hotline. 🤡 Don't waste your time.

Easy to say when you're not the one who can't pay rent or buy food. Some of us don't have the luxury of patience.
