EDD Benefits Stuck in Pending Status - Need Help ASAP!
Hey everyone, I'm really frustrated with my unemployment situation. My benefits have been pending for weeks now and I can't seem to get any answers. I've tried calling the unemployment office multiple times but I can't get through to a real person. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on how to get my benefits processed or at least find out what's causing the delay? I'm really struggling financially and could use some help.

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same boat for like 2 months. It's ridiculous how broken the system is. Have you tried contacting your local representative? That's what finally worked for me.

•Thanks for the suggestion. I haven't tried that yet. How did you go about contacting your rep? Did you email or call their office?

•I emailed first with all my info and then followed up with a call a few days later. Be persistent! Good luck!

•This is solid advice. My state rep's office was super helpful when I was stuck in pending hell. Def worth a shot!

Have you checked your online account for any messages or requests for additional information? Sometimes they need more docs but don't make it obvious.

•Yeah, I've been checking daily. No new messages or requests. It's just sitting there in pending status 😫

•Classic ESD move. They probably lost your paperwork or something. Keep bugging them!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ

•Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

•I get the skepticism, but it's totally legit. I was desperate and took a chance. Got through to an agent in about 2 hours. Worth every penny for me.

•Wait, we gotta PAY to talk to unemployment now? This country is a joke 🤡

•I hear ya, but when you're waiting on thousands in benefits, $20 to actually get answers seemed worth it to me. Your call tho!

Here's what worked for me after being stuck in pending for 6 weeks: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. 2. Check your spam folder daily. Sometimes important emails end up there. 3. If you have access to a fax machine, try faxing your inquiry. Sounds old school but it got me a response. 4. Join Facebook groups for your state's unemployment issues. Sometimes they have insider tips. 5. Be persistent but polite when you do get someone on the phone. 6. If all else fails, contact your state representative or senator. Hang in there. The system is overwhelmed but keep pushing!

•Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'm definitely going to try the fax idea. Didn't even think of that.

Not to be that guy, but are you sure you filled out everything correctly? I thought I was stuck in pending but turns out I messed up one of the forms 🤦♂️

•Pretty sure I did, but now you've got me paranoid lol. Gonna triple check everything tonight.

•Always worth a double-check! The forms can be confusing af

I'm convinced they do this on purpose to discourage people from claiming benefits. Stay strong and don't give up! 💪

•Nah, never attribute to malice what can be explained by incompetence. The system just sucks.

Hey OP, what state are you in? The process can vary a lot depending on where you are.
