NC DES: Can't reach a rep for backpay, never received payments. Help!
I'm so frustrated with the unemployment office. Every time I call, I can't get through to a real person. I've been trying to get my back pay for weeks now and haven't received any payments. Has anyone else had this problem? Any advice on how to actually talk to someone?

Ugh, I feel your pain. The unemployment system is a total mess right now. I've been trying to get through for months. It's like they don't want us to get our money 🙄

•For real tho. Its like they purposely make it hard to discourage ppl from claiming. The whole system needs an overhaul

•Yep, same boat here. Been waiting on backpay since March. This is ridiculous!

•Have you guys tried calling right when they open? I heard that's the best time to get through.

•Tried that. No luck. It's always 'high call volume' no matter what time I call 😤

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's the link: https://www.claimyr.com

•Sounds too good to be true. How does it actually work?

•$20? That's steep. Is it really worth it?

•It's legit, I promise. You pay, they call and wait on hold, then when an agent picks up, they connect you. Saved me hours of frustration.

•I'm skeptical. Couldn't this be a scam to get our info?

•Nah, it's not a scam. They don't ask for any sensitive info. Just your phone number to forward the call. Totally worth the $20 imo

Here's what worked for me: 1. Call exactly at 8:00 AM when they open 2. If you get the busy signal, hang up and redial immediately 3. Keep doing this until you get into the queue 4. Once in queue, DO NOT HANG UP no matter how long the wait 5. Have all your info ready when you finally get through It took me about 30 tries over 3 days, but I finally got someone and got my backpay issue resolved. Stay persistent!

•I know it's a pain, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to get your money 🤷♂️

Have you tried reaching out to your local state representative? They sometimes have connections and can help push things through.

Has anyone tried faxing their documents? I heard that sometimes gets faster results than calling or emailing.

•Faxing? What year is it, 1995? 😂

I feel for you, OP. The unemployment system is a joke. They expect us to live off air while they 'process' our claims. It's criminal how they're treating people during a pandemic.

Pro tip: if you get through to someone who can't help, ask to speak to a tier 2 representative. They have more authority to fix issues.

•This! Tier 2 reps are the real MVPs. They actually have the power to do something.

Anyone else notice that the website is always 'under maintenance' when you try to check your claim status? It's like they're actively trying to make this as difficult as possible 🙄
