EDD hasn't paid me in weeks, keeps 'forgetting' about my case. Help!
I haven't received any unemployment payments in weeks and I'm getting really frustrated. Every time I call, they say they'll prioritize my case and get the payment to me ASAP, but then nothing happens. It's like they completely forget about me until I call again. I've had to use a paid service just to get through to them on the phone. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on how to actually get my payments?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been dealing with the same BS for months now. It's like they're playing a game of 'how long can we make people wait before they snap?' 🤬

•For real tho. I swear they have a dartboard with our names on it and just randomly decide who gets paid each week 🎯

•Haha, might as well make some money while we wait for our actual payments! 😂

Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? Sometimes they can light a fire under EDD's ass and get things moving.

•I haven't tried that yet. How do I find out who my local rep is?

•Just google '[your city] state representative' and you should find their contact info. Send them an email explaining your situation. They usually have staff dedicated to helping with these issues.

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 😤

•I know it sounds crazy, but I was desperate. It actually worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

•I've used it too. Worth every penny when you're at your wits end.

Here's what worked for me: 1. Document EVERYTHING. Keep a log of every call, email, and interaction. 2. Be persistent. Call every day if you have to. 3. Use social media. Sometimes tweeting at them publicly can get a response. 4. File a formal complaint with the EDD and your state's labor board. 5. Consider contacting local news outlets. Bad publicity can motivate them to act. It's a pain, but you gotta be your own advocate in this broken system. Don't give up!

•This is solid advice. I'd add: join Facebook groups for unemployment in your state. They often have good tips and can alert you to system updates.

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes important emails from EDD end up there. Also, make sure your contact info is up to date in their system.

•Good point, I'll double-check those things. Thanks!

I was in the same boat last year. Turns out there was a flag on my account for potential fraud (even though everything was legit). Had to verify my identity again. Might be worth asking if there's any specific issue holding up your payments.

•This happened to me too! The fraud prevention stuff is out of control. Took weeks to sort out 😫

•Oh man, I hope that's not the case for me. But I'll definitely ask about it next time I get through. Thanks for the heads up!
