NYDOL calls dropping before connecting - Payment issues unresolved
Hey everyone, I'm having a really frustrating issue with my unemployment payments. The calls keep dropping before I can even connect with anyone at the department. Has anyone else experienced this? It's been going on for a while now and I'm starting to get worried about my claim. Any advice on how to actually get through to someone?

I found a way to solve unemployment call dropping issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bt_Wn0N_Gf4

Ugh, I feel your pain! The same thing happened to me last month. It's like they don't want us to actually get our benefits 🙄 Have you tried calling right when they open? That worked for me after like a million attempts.

•Thanks for the tip! I've tried calling at different times, but not right at opening. I'll give that a shot tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed 🤞

•Opening time is the worst! Everyone tries to call then. I had better luck calling around 2 PM. Less traffic then.

•Really? Huh, maybe it depends on the day. I guess the key is to just keep trying different times until something works. This system is such a mess 😫

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this? I'm skeptical about paying for something like this...

•Wait, we have to PAY to get our benefits now? That's messed up. The system is so broken 😡

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. After weeks of trying, I was desperate. The $20 was worth it to finally get my issue resolved. But yeah, it sucks we have to resort to this.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update info there without actually calling you. Worth a shot before you keep banging your head against the wall with these calls.

Omg I'm in the exact same boat!!! 🚣♀️ Been trying for WEEKS to get through. This is ridiculous. We need to organize and complain to our representatives or something. This can't keep happening to people who are already struggling!

•I'm down for some organized complaining! Maybe we could start a petition? Or flood their social media? Something's gotta give!

•Careful with social media stuff. I heard they can use that against your claim if you say the wrong thing. But I agree we need to do SOMETHING

Here's what I've learned after dealing with this nonsense for months: 1. Be persistent. Call multiple times a day if you have to. 2. Try different times. Early morning and late afternoon seem to work best. 3. Check your online account regularly for updates. 4. If you get through, be super nice to the rep. They're dealing with a lot too. 5. Keep detailed records of all your calls and attempts. 6. Consider reaching out to your local representative for help. 7. Look into alternative contact methods like email or chat (if available). 8. Join unemployment Facebook groups for your state. Sometimes they have insider tips. 9. If all else fails, that paid service someone mentioned might be worth a shot. Hang in there, OP. I know it's frustrating, but don't give up. You'll get through eventually!

I dont mean to be that guy, but are we sure its not a problem with OPs phone? Like maybe ur carrier is dropping the calls? Just a thought before blaming the unemployment office (even tho they do suck lol

•I considered that, but it's only happening with these calls. Everything else works fine. Plus, I've tried from different phones too. Pretty sure it's on their end.
