EDD payment not received, can't reach anyone on phone. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my unemployment payment. I filed my claim a while back, but I still haven't received any money. I even got a call from them, but when I picked up, there was just music playing and someone talking to someone else in the background. I said hello for like 5 minutes before the call dropped. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on how to actually get through to a real person who can help?

Ugh, welcome to the club 🙄 The system is so broken rn its not even funny. I've been waiting for my payment for weeks and can't get anyone on the phone. It's like they're purposely making it impossible to reach them.

•Seriously! I feel like I'm stuck in some kind of bureaucratic nightmare. How are we supposed to survive without our benefits?

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to your phone. It costs $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit?

•Yeah, I was skeptical at first too, but I tried it and it actually worked. Got through to an agent in about an hour instead of spending days trying to call myself.

•$20 tho? That's kinda steep when were already struggling 😕

•I get it, but for me it was worth it to finally get my issue resolved. Beats losing out on weeks of benefits 🤷♂️

Here's what I've learned from dealing with this mess for the past few months: • Keep calling, even if it seems hopeless. Sometimes you get lucky and get through. • Check your online account regularly for updates or messages. • Make sure all your info is up to date and you've submitted all required docs. • If you can, try calling right when they open or just before they close. • Consider reaching out to your local representative's office. They can sometimes help push things along. • Document everything! Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and any communication you receive. • Join Facebook groups or other online communities for your state's unemployment. Sometimes people share tips or inside info there. Hang in there, OP. I know it's frustrating, but don't give up!

I'm in the same boat, OP. Been waiting for 6 weeks now. This whole system is a joke. They expect us to be available 24/7 for their calls, but when we need them? Radio silence. 🤬

Has anyone tried going to the office in person? I'm thinking of camping out there until someone helps me lol

•I tried that last week. They just gave me a form to fill out and told me to go home and wait. Total waste of time 😑

guys I think I figured out the secret menu options to get to a real person! When you call, press 2, then 4, then 1, then wait for 30 seconds without pressing anything, then press 3. Worked for me after like 50 tries lol

This is why we need to vote for better leadership. The whole system is broken and nobody seems to care about fixing it. 🤦♂️

•100% agree. We need people in office who actually understand what it's like to struggle

Hey OP, what state are you in? The process can vary a lot depending on where you are. Might help to know for more specific advice.

•Oh good point, I'm in California. Should've mentioned that in the original post, my bad!

•Ah gotcha. Yeah, CA is notoriously bad rn. Have you tried reaching out to your assembly member? I've heard they can sometimes help push things through.

unpopular opinion: maybe try looking for a job instead of waiting for a handout? 🤷♂️
