Need help filing UI claim - system issues & can't get through on phone
Hey everyone, I'm having some trouble with my unemployment claim. I need to file a claim but I'm running into issues. Has anyone else had problems with this process lately? I tried calling but couldn't get through. Any advice on how to resolve this or what steps I should take next?

Ugh, welcome to the club. 🙄 The unemployment system is a total mess right now. I've been trying to file a claim for weeks and keep hitting roadblocks. Have you tried using the online portal? Sometimes it works better than calling.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•20 bucks? Thats kinda steep just to make a phone call...

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. After weeks of trying to get through, I was desperate enough to try anything. The $20 was worth it to finally talk to someone and get my claim sorted out.

•Can you give more details about how it works? Is it legit?

•Sure! Basically, you go to their website, choose the department you need to call, pay the fee, and then their system starts calling for you. When it gets through to a real person, it connects the call to your phone. Saved me hours of hold time.

Have you tried going to the unemployment office in person? I know its a pain, but sometimes face-to-face is the only way to get things done with these bureaucrats.

Okay, so here's what you need to do to file a claim and resolve issues: 1. Gather all your documents: pay stubs, W-2 forms, and any separation paperwork from your last job. 2. Try the online portal first thing in the morning (like 6 AM) when traffic is lower. 3. If that doesn't work, call right when they open. Keep redialing if you get a busy signal. 4. Be prepared to wait on hold for HOURS. Put your phone on speaker and do other stuff while you wait. 5. If you can't get through, try contacting your local state representative. They sometimes have connections to help. 6. Make sure you're answering all questions accurately. One wrong answer can delay your claim. 7. If you have a complex situation (like you worked in multiple states), you might need to file a combined wage claim. 8. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. This can be useful if there are delays in processing your claim. 9. Check your state's unemployment website for any updates or changes to the filing process. 10. Don't give up! It's frustrating, but persistence usually pays off eventually. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Has anyone heard about the new bill they're trying to pass to improve the unemployment system? Supposedly it'll make filing claims easier, but idk if it'll actually help or just be more political BS.

•I read about that! It's supposed to modernize the whole system, but who knows how long that'll take to implement even if it passes.

•Yeah right, like politicians actually care about making things easier for us 🙄 I'll believe it when I see it.

Pro tip: if you're having trouble with identity verification, try uploading a clearer picture of your ID. I had to retake mine like 3 times before it went through.

Anyone else notice that the system always seems to crash right when you're about to finish your claim? It's like they're doing it on purpose I swear

Hey OP, what specific issue are you having with filing your claim? Might be able to give more targeted advice if we know exactly where you're stuck.

•Thanks for asking. I keep getting an error message saying my SSN doesn't match their records, but I know I'm entering it correctly. Not sure what to do next.

•Ah, classic SSN mismatch. Try calling and asking for the identity verification department specifically. They can usually sort that out pretty quick.
