EDD calls keep dropping immediately after answering - Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having a really frustrating issue with my unemployment calls. Every time I try to get through, the call keeps dropping right after I answer. It's happening over and over again and I'm worried about missing important deadlines. Has anyone else experienced this? Any tips on how to actually get through and stay connected?

Ugh, I feel your pain! The same thing happened to me last week. It's like they're playing some sick game with us š¤” I tried calling at different times of the day, but no luck. Anyone know if there's a best time to call?

I've heard early morning works best, like right when they open. But tbh, it's still a crapshoot š²

Nah, I've had better luck calling late afternoon. Less people trying to get thru then.

This is ridiculous. The whole system is broken. How are we supposed to get help when we cant even get through on the phone? Its like they dont want us to actually recieve our benefits.

Preach! š It's almost like they're hoping we'll just give up and go away.

Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? Sometimes they can help push things through.

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? That's kinda steep just to make a phone call...

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

Here's what I've learned after dealing with this for months: ā¢ Try calling right at 8:00 AM when they open ā¢ Use multiple phones if you can to increase your chances ā¢ If you get through, don't hang up no matter what ā¢ Be super polite to the rep, they deal with angry people all day ā¢ Have all your info ready before you call ā¢ If all else fails, try contacting them through social media Hope this helps someone! We're all in this together šŖ

Great list! I'd add: keep a log of all your call attempts. It might help if you need to prove you've been trying to reach them.

I'm an ex-EDD employee, and I can tell you that the system is overwhelmed. They're working on upgrading the phone systems, but it's a slow process. My advice: be persistent and patient. And yeah, early morning calls are your best bet.

Sure! Always have your claim number ready, and try to be specific about your issue. The more info you can give upfront, the faster they can help you.
