EDD call dropped right after transfer - what now?
So I was on the phone with EDD trying to sort out my unemployment claim, and just as I got transferred to someone who could actually help me, the call dropped! Has anyone else experienced this? It's so frustrating to wait on hold forever only to get disconnected right when you finally reach someone. Any advice on what to do now? Should I just call back and start the whole process over again?

Ugh, that sucks! I've had that happen to me too. It's like they're trying to make it as difficult as possible for us to get help. π

β’I swear they do it on purpose to discourage people from claiming. π€

β’I hope not, but sometimes it really feels that way. Just trying to stay positive and keep trying I guess.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

β’Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

β’Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate after trying for weeks. It actually worked for me.

β’I get it, but for me it was worth it to finally get through. Saved me hours of frustration.

Here's what I've learned from dealing with EDD for months: 1. Keep calling back. It sucks, but persistence pays off. 2. Try calling right when they open or just before they close. Sometimes less busy. 3. If you get disconnected after being transferred, immediately call back and explain what happened. Sometimes they can get you back to where you were. 4. Document everything. Write down who you talked to, when, and what they said. 5. Check your online account regularly for updates or messages. 6. If all else fails, contact your local state representative's office. They can sometimes intervene on your behalf. Hope this helps! Hang in there, OP!

I feel your pain, OP. I've been playing phone tag with EDD for weeks now. It's like trying to catch a unicorn π¦

Pro tip: if you have a landline and a cell, call on both at the same time. Double your chances of getting through!

Honestly, at this point I'm convinced the EDD is run by a bunch of hamsters on wheels. Would explain a lot. πΉπ¨

Hey OP, what time of day were you calling? I've had better luck getting through in the afternoons.

Plot twist: what if there are no actual EDD employees and its just an elaborate AI system designed to frustrate us all? π€

β’Nah, an AI would probably be more efficient π
