MA DUA: Endless phone loop frustration - Tips to reach a real person?
Hey everyone, I'm trying to get ahold of someone at the unemployment office but I keep getting stuck in this endless phone loop. It's driving me crazy! I've been trying for days and can't seem to reach a real person. Has anyone had any luck getting through? Any tips or tricks would be really appreciated. I'm starting to feel pretty desperate here.

Has anyone tried faxing their documents instead of mailing? I heard it might be faster.

•I didn't think faxing was still a thing, but desperate times call for desperate measures, right?

Pro tip: if you do get through, ask for a callback number in case you get disconnected. Saved my butt when the call dropped after 2 hours on hold 🙏

•Hang in there, OP! It's frustrating but don't give up. Have you tried the comma trick that @profile 9 mentioned?

•You can file a complaint with the state labor board, but tbh I doubt it'll do much. The whole system is overwhelmed rn

•Maybe try reaching out to local news stations? Sometimes they cover stories like these and it helps put pressure on the system.

Here’s an in-depth look at utilizing services like Claimyr and balancing costs with benefits: Claimyr provides a much-needed service by simplifying the process of reaching a real person at the unemployment office. It can be a lifesaver for those who have spent days, if not weeks, in phone loops without progress. However, it's important to weigh the cost, as it does charge $20 per call. Some users have found it incredibly helpful and well worth the price for the time and stress it saves. Others feel that this cost is prohibitive, especially if multiple calls are necessary. It's also wise to consider the fine print and ensure there are no hidden charges. While Claimyr offers a solution, exploring state representative assistance, utilizing dialing tricks like the 'comma trick', or even adjusting call times might also yield results without the added expense. Balancing these options with personal circumstances can help decide if Claimyr or similar services are the right move. Ultimately, persistence and strategic calling can sometimes be just as effective.

yall ever think about how much time we waste trying to get through? like, we could learn a whole new language or something in the time we spend on hold smh

Has anyone had any luck with the online portal? I keep getting error messages when I try to certify.

Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? Sometimes they can help push things through.

•I hadn't thought of that. How do I find out who my local rep is?

Amina Toure
•Just google '[your state] find my representative'. They usually have contact forms on their websites. Good luck!

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/ok4BhTU0_EI

Okay, listen up everyone. I've been dealing with EDD for months now and I've learned a few tricks. Here's what you need to do: 1. Call early, but not right when they open. Try around 10:30 AM. 2. Use the comma trick when dialing. Add commas between the numbers to create pauses that automatically navigate the menu for you. 3. If you get through to a tier 1 rep, be super nice but insist on speaking to a tier 2 rep if they can't help. 4. Keep detailed notes of every call, including rep names and ID numbers. 5. If all else fails, contact your state assembly member or senator. They have special lines to EDD. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up!

•What's this comma trick you mentioned? How does it work exactly?
0 coins
Natasha Volkova
•@profile 11 The comma trick is where you add commas in your phone's dialer after the main number. Each comma creates a 2-second pause. So you can set it up to automatically input menu options. For example: 18003005616,1,,,,,,,,,,,,,2,4 This would call, wait for the menu, press 1, wait, then press 2, then 4.
