Still can't reach EDD - Any tips for getting through to a real person?
Hey everyone, I'm still dealing with my unemployment issue and need to speak with someone at the office. Has anyone had any luck getting through to a real person lately? I've been trying for days and keep hitting dead ends. Any tips or tricks would be appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been trying to get through for weeks now. It's like they don't want us to actually talk to anyone 🙄

•Seriously! It's like they're purposely making it difficult. I swear the system is designed to frustrate us into giving up.

•Have you tried calling right when they open? I heard that's the best time to get through.

•Yeah, I've tried that. No luck. It's always busy or I get disconnected. This whole thing is a joke 😤

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Wow, that sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•Idk man, sounds kinda sketchy. Why should we have to pay to talk to someone about our benefits?

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. After weeks of trying, I was desperate enough to give it a shot. Totally worth the $20 to finally get my issue resolved.

•How long did you have to wait once you used the service?

•It took about 2 hours total, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They called me when an agent was on the line. Way better than wasting a whole day trying to get through myself.

Have you tried reaching out on social media? Sometimes they respond faster there.

I've been dealing with this for months now. It's absolutely ridiculous how hard they make it to get help. I'm at my wits end 😫

•Months?! That's insane. Have you tried contacting your local representative? They might be able to help push things along.

•Yeah, I've tried everything. Local rep, social media, emails, calls... it's like shouting into the void 🕳️

Here's what I've learned after dealing with this system for way too long: 1. Persistence is key. Keep calling, even if it feels hopeless. 2. Try different times of day. Early morning and late afternoon seem to work best. 3. Be prepared with all your info when you do get through. Have your claim number, ID, and any relevant documents ready. 4. If you get a unhelpful rep, politely end the call and try again. Some are more knowledgeable than others. 5. Document everything. Write down who you talked to, when, and what they said. 6. If all else fails, contact your local representative or the ombudsman's office. Hope this helps someone. Stay strong, we're all in this together! 💪

•Great advice. I'd add: learn the phone menu options by heart. Sometimes you can get through faster by choosing different departments.

Pro tip: if you have a complex issue, try to get it escalated to a tier 2 specialist. They have more authority to actually solve problems.

I'm convinced the whole system is designed to make us give up. Stay strong everyone, and don't let them win! 💪

Has anyone had any luck with the online portal? I've been trying to update my info there but keep getting error messages.

•The online portal is a joke. Half the time it's down for "maintenance" 🙄
