EDD Disability: Can't get through on phone. Any tips to reach a human?
Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my unemployment claim and I'm trying to get in touch with the disability department. Has anyone had any luck getting through to them lately? I've been trying for days and it's so frustrating. Any tips or tricks would be really appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been trying to reach them for weeks now. It's like they don't want us to get our benefits or something. Have you tried calling right when they open? I heard that might work better.

•Same here. I even set an alarm for 7:55 am to be ready. Still nothing. This system is so broken 😤

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. After weeks of trying, I finally got through. The $20 was worth it to get my claim sorted out.

•How long did you have to wait once you used the service?

•It took about 2 hours total, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They called me when an agent was on the line. Way better than wasting a whole day redialing!

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They sometimes have direct lines to EDD and can help push your claim through. It's worth a shot!

I'm in the same boat, OP. Been trying to get through for my disability claim for over a month now. The whole system is a joke. How are we supposed to survive when we can't even get basic help? 😡

•Preach! 🙌 It's like they want us to give up and just suffer in silence.

•Have you guys tried the online portal? Sometimes you can get answers there without calling.

•Yeah, tried that. It's useless for anything beyond basic info. Still need to talk to a human for my issue 🙄

Here's what I've learned after dealing with EDD for months: 1. Call early in the morning, right when they open. 2. If you get a busy signal, hang up and immediately redial. 3. Use multiple phones if possible to increase your chances. 4. Be persistent and don't give up. It might take 50+ calls, but eventually you'll get through. 5. When you do get through, ask for a direct extension or callback number for future reference. 6. Keep detailed notes of every interaction, including date, time, and representative name. 7. If all else fails, contact your local assembly member or state senator's office for help. Remember, the system is overwhelmed, but stay calm and polite when you do reach someone. Good luck!

Has anyone tried faxing? I know it sounds old school, but I've heard some people have had success getting responses that way.

•Honestly, at this point, I'd send a carrier pigeon if I thought it would work.
