Need help getting NYDOL to release unemployment payment - any tips to reach a human?
Hey everyone, I'm trying to get my unemployment payment released. Has anyone had any luck getting through to someone on the phone? I've been trying for days and it's so frustrating. Any tips or tricks would be really appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been in the same boat for weeks now. It's like they don't want us to actually get our money 🙄

•I swear the system is designed to frustrate us into giving up. Stay strong!

I actually found a way to get through! There's this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that calls for you, waits on hold, and then connects you when a real person picks up. It costs $20 but honestly, it was worth every penny for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•I get the skepticism, but it really worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Sometimes you gotta spend money to make money, ya know?

•Just used it today actually. Got through in like an hour. Definitely beats calling all day myself!

Have you tried calling right when they open? I've heard that's the best time to get through.

Here's what worked for me: 1. Call early in the morning, like 7:55 AM 2. Use multiple phones if you can 3. Keep redialing even if you get a busy signal 4. Be prepared with all your info ready 5. Stay polite but firm with the rep It took me a few days, but I finally got through and got my payment released. Don't give up!

Anyone else notice how the system always seems to 'crash' right when you finally get through? 🤔 I swear its not a coincidence

Pro tip: if you have Twitter, try reaching out to your state's DOL account. Sometimes they respond and can help escalate your case.

Honestly, at this point I'm considering hiring a lawyer. Anyone gone that route? Is it worth it?

•I looked into it, but most lawyers want a big chunk of your backpay. Might be worth it if you're owed a lot tho

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes payments get released without them telling you. Worth a shot!
