Need help reopening EDD claim - can't get through on phone!
Hey everyone, I need to reopen my unemployment claim but I'm having trouble getting through to someone on the phone. Has anyone had any luck recently? Any tips or tricks would be appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been trying to get through for weeks now. It's like they're purposely making it impossible to talk to a real person. 🤬

•Same here! I've tried calling at different times of the day, but no luck. It's so frustrating.

•Have you tried calling right when they open? I heard that's the best time to get through.

•Yeah, I've tried that too. Still no luck. It's like playing the lottery at this point.

I actually found a way to get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Wow, that sounds interesting. How long did you have to wait?

•Idk, sounds kinda sketchy. Are you sure it's legit?

•It took about 2 hours, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. And yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it really worked for me.

Here's what I've learned about reopening a claim: • First, try to do it online if possible. Sometimes the system allows you to reopen without calling. • If that doesn't work, be prepared for a long wait on the phone. • Have all your information ready: SSN, last employer details, dates of employment, etc. • Be persistent and keep trying different times of day. • Consider using a auto-dialer app to help you get through. • If all else fails, you might want to contact your local representative's office. They can sometimes help expedite things. Hope this helps! Good luck!

Have you tried faxing your request? I know it sounds old school, but I've heard some people have had success that way.

•Faxing? What year is it, 1995? 😂 But seriously, I'll try anything at this point. Do you know where I can find the fax number?

•LOL I know right? But desperate times call for desperate measures. Here's the fax number I used: 555-123-4567. Good luck!

I'm in the same boat. its so frustrating that they make it this difficult. Don't they realize were calling because we NEED the money?

Pro tip: if you get through to someone but they say they can't help, ask to speak to a tier 2 specialist. Sometimes the first person you talk to doesn't have the authority to reopen claims.

•This! 💯 It took me forever to learn this trick, but it really works.

Anyone else notice that the system seems to be down every other day? I swear they're doing it on purpose to reduce the number of claims...

•Omg yes! I thought I was going crazy. It's always "technical difficulties" or "scheduled maintenance"

•Guys, let's not assume malice. The systems are probably just overloaded with all the claims.

Has anyone tried going to the unemployment office in person? I'm thinking of camping out overnight if that's what it takes.

•I tried that last week. They just gave me a piece of paper with the same phone number we've all been calling. Total waste of time.
