EDD online system saying benefits denied - Can't reopen claim. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble re-opening my unemployment claim online. The system keeps saying my benefits are being denied. Has anyone else run into this issue? Any advice on how to get through to someone who can help?

Ugh, I've been there. The online system is a nightmare. Have you tried calling them directly? It's a pain, but sometimes it's the only way to get things sorted out.

•Same here. I spent hours on hold and never got to talk to anyone. The system is broken af

•Pro tip: call right when they open. You might have a better chance of getting through.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/MCgaMJPY8Us

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate. It actually worked for me and saved me hours of frustration.

•20 bucks tho? That's kinda steep when were already struggling 😕

•I get it, but for me it was worth it. I was losing more money by not getting my claim sorted out.

Have you checked your mail? Sometimes they send important notices about benefit denials through snail mail. You might have missed something important.

I had a similar issue last month. Turns out there was a glitch in their system that was causing false denials. It might be worth asking specifically about that when you get through to someone.

Here's what I've learned from dealing with the unemployment office for months: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and online attempts. 2. Be persistent. Sometimes you have to call multiple times a day for several days. 3. Check your spam folder regularly. Important emails sometimes end up there. 4. If possible, try to visit an unemployment office in person. It's often faster. 5. Reach out to your local state representative. They can sometimes intervene on your behalf. 6. Join Facebook groups for unemployment issues in your state. They often have good tips and updates. 7. Double-check all your information. Sometimes a small typo can cause big problems. Hope this helps! Hang in there, OP. 💪

have u tried turning it off and on again? 🤣 jk jk... but seriously, sometimes logging out completely and clearing your browser cache can help with weird online issues.

This whole system is a joke. They make it so hard on purpose so people just give up. Don't let them win, OP!

idk if this helps, but I had success emailing them. took a few days to get a response, but at least I didn't have to deal with the phone system. might be worth a shot?
