Can't find option to reopen unemployment claim on CDLE website - help!
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble reopening my unemployment claim. The website says I need to select an option from the menu to reopen it, but I can't find that option anywhere. Has anyone else run into this issue? Any advice on what to do next?

Ugh, I had the same problem last month. It's so frustrating! Have you tried clearing your browser cache? Sometimes that helps with weird website glitches.

•Thanks for the suggestion! I'll give that a try and see if it helps. Fingers crossed 🤞

•Clearing cache worked for me too! Also try using a different browser if that doesn't work. The unemployment website is so finicky 🙄

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/W4S1W6V2hOQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

•Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

•I've used it twice now. Beats sitting on hold all day!

Have you checked if there are any notices or messages in your online account? Sometimes they send important updates there that might explain why you can't see the option to reopen.

The unemployment system is such a joke. They make it impossible to get help when you need it. I've been trying to fix an issue with my claim for weeks now. 😡

Here's what I've learned about reopening unemployment claims: 1. Timing is crucial. You can usually only reopen a claim at the beginning of a new quarter. 2. Make sure you're eligible. If you've worked since your last claim, you might need to file a new claim instead of reopening. 3. Check for any pending issues on your account. These can block the reopening option. 4. Try accessing the site during off-peak hours. Early morning or late evening often works better. 5. If all else fails, call the unemployment office directly. Yes, it's a pain, but sometimes it's the only way. Hope this helps! Let us know if you make any progress.

•Wow, thank you so much for this detailed info! I'll definitely check on the timing and eligibility. Really appreciate you taking the time to write all this out.

Have you tried turning it off and on again? 😂 jk jk... but seriously, sometimes logging out and back in can refresh the page and show new options.

OP, what state are you in? The process can vary depending on location. Might help to know for more specific advice.

I had this exact same issue a few months ago! The "reopen claim" option was buried in a weird spot on the website. Try logging into your account and look for a section called "Claim Status" or "Manage Claims" - sometimes the reopen option is hidden there instead of being on the main dashboard. Also, double-check that your previous claim has been inactive for at least a week before trying to reopen it. The system won't show the option if it thinks your claim is still active. If you still can't find it, you might need to call - I know it's a pain but sometimes that's the only way to get it sorted out. Good luck!

•This is super helpful! I never would have thought to check the "Claim Status" section. Thanks for the tip about waiting a week after the claim goes inactive too - that might be exactly what I was missing. Definitely going to try this before calling!

I went through this same nightmare last year! One thing that helped me was checking if there were any outstanding verification requirements or pending issues blocking the reopen option. Sometimes the system won't show the reopen button if there's something they need from you first - like identity verification or work search documentation. Also, if you recently moved or changed your contact info, that can sometimes mess with the system. Try checking your inbox (both email and the message center on the unemployment site) for any requests they might have sent. If you find any pending items, complete those first and then check back for the reopen option. The whole system is such a mess but hopefully this helps narrow down what might be blocking you!

•This is exactly what happened to me! I had a pending identity verification that I didn't even know about because the notification got buried in my spam folder. Once I completed that, the reopen option magically appeared. Definitely check all your messages - both email and on the site itself. The system is so poorly designed that important notifications can easily get missed.

Just wanted to add another potential solution - sometimes the reopen option is only visible during certain hours or days of the week due to system maintenance windows. I've noticed the Colorado CDLE website sometimes hides certain features during their overnight processing times (usually between 11 PM and 6 AM). Also, if you filed your original claim during a holiday period or busy season, there might be special restrictions on when you can reopen. Try checking the site during normal business hours on a weekday if you haven't already. And make sure you're using the direct CDLE website and not going through any third-party sites - I've seen people get confused because some unofficial sites don't have all the same options. Hope you get it sorted out soon!

•Great point about the system maintenance windows! I've definitely noticed the CDLE site acting weird during off hours. Just to add to this - I found that using Chrome instead of Safari also made a difference for me. Some of these government sites seem to work better with certain browsers. Also, if you're using any ad blockers or privacy extensions, try disabling them temporarily - sometimes they can interfere with the site's functionality. The whole thing is so finicky but between all these suggestions hopefully something works!

I'm dealing with the exact same issue right now! It's so frustrating when you need to reopen your claim and the website just doesn't cooperate. Based on what everyone's shared here, I'm going to try a few things: first clearing my browser cache like Alana suggested, then checking for any pending verification requirements in my account messages, and looking in the "Claim Status" section that Emma mentioned. If none of that works, I might have to bite the bullet and either call or try that claimyr service that Sara talked about. Thanks everyone for all the helpful suggestions - it's nice to know I'm not the only one struggling with this system! Will update if I figure it out.

•Hey! I'm new to this whole unemployment process but reading through all these suggestions has been super helpful. I'm actually worried I might run into the same issue when I need to file my claim soon. Question for everyone - is there a way to prevent these kinds of problems from happening in the first place? Like should I be doing something specific when I first file to make sure reopening goes smoothly later? Also, has anyone tried contacting their local workforce center for help with website issues? I saw one mentioned in my area and wondering if they might be able to assist with navigating the online system. Thanks for all the great advice in this thread!
