OED online system says benefits denied when trying to reopen claim - Help!

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble reopening my unemployment claim online. The system keeps saying my benefits are being denied. Has anyone else run into this issue? Any advice on how to get it sorted out?

Ugh, I've been there. The online system is a nightmare sometimes. Have you tried calling them directly? It might be faster to get it sorted out over the phone.

I've been trying to call all morning but can't get through. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 20 minutes on hold last week.

20 minutes? You got lucky! I was on hold for 3 hours yesterday 😭

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/MCgaMJPY8Us

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

How long did it take for them to call you back?

It took about 2 hours for me, but I've heard it can vary. Still better than being stuck on hold all day!

Have you checked your mail? Sometimes they send important notices about claim status or required actions. I missed one and it caused a whole mess with my benefits.

This happened to me last month. Turns out there was a glitch in their system affecting a bunch of claims. I had to go to the local office and get it sorted out in person. It sucked, but at least it got fixed.

Oof, I hope I don't have to do that. The nearest office is like an hour away from me.

If you do go in person, bring ALL your paperwork. Trust me, you don't wanna make multiple trips šŸ™„

Here's what I've learned from dealing with the unemployment office for months: • Always document everything. Keep a log of when you call, who you talk to, and what they say. • Check your online account daily for updates or messages. • If you can't get through on the main line, try calling their technical support number instead. • Be persistent! Sometimes you just gotta keep trying. • If all else fails, contact your local state representative. They can sometimes intervene on your behalf. Hope this helps! Hang in there, OP. We're all in the same boat. šŸš£ā€ā™‚ļø

Contacting my state rep was a game changer. They got my issue resolved in a week after I'd been struggling for a month.

have u tried turning it off and on again? 🤣 jk jk... but seriously, sometimes logging out completely, clearing your browser cache, and trying again can help with weird online issues.

This whole system is a joke. They make it so hard on purpose, I swear. Hang in there, OP. Don't let the bastards grind you down! šŸ’Ŗ
