UI Claim Stuck: System Says Reopen Claim When Trying to Certify Weekly
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my unemployment claim. When I try to do my weekly certification, the system tells me I need to reopen my claim. Has anyone else run into this issue? Any advice on how to handle it?

Ugh, I had the same problem last month. It's so frustrating! Have you tried calling the unemployment office? Sometimes they can fix it on their end.

•I've been trying to call for days, but I can never get through. It's like their phone lines are always busy 😫

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold that way!

This happened to me too! Turns out my benefit year had ended, and I needed to file a new claim. Check if that might be your issue.

Have you checked your inbox on the unemployment website? Sometimes they send messages there about issues with your claim that need to be addressed.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

•How long did it take for them to get someone on the line?

•It took about 2 hours, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They just called me when an agent was ready.

Here's what you need to do to reopen your claim: 1. Log into your account on the unemployment website 2. Look for an option that says "Reopen Claim" or something similar 3. Follow the prompts and answer all questions carefully 4. Submit the reopened claim 5. Wait for it to process (can take a few days) 6. Once processed, you should be able to certify again If you run into any issues during this process, take screenshots and document everything. It'll help if you need to call and explain the problem to a rep. Also, make sure you're still eligible for benefits. Sometimes claims need to be reopened because your benefit year ended or your circumstances changed. Hope this helps! Let us know how it goes.

•Preach! 🙌 It's like they make it complicated on purpose to discourage people.

Quick question - have you had any gaps in your certifications? Sometimes if you miss a week or two, it can trigger the system to think you need to reopen your claim.

•Now that you mention it, I did miss certifying last week because I was sick. Could that be the cause?

•Yep, that's probably it! Just follow the reopening process and you should be good to go.

Friendly reminder to everyone: ALWAYS KEEP COPIES OF EVERYTHING YOU SUBMIT TO THE UNEMPLOYMENT OFFICE. It's saved my butt more than once when dealing with issues like this.
